One in-state forward whom I continue to be higher on than most is Lassiter. Despite being listed at just 6’4″, Jayden plays bigger than his height because of his strong frame and high motor inside the paint. Jayden went for 8 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 assists off the bench in a big win over AGNS on Saturday, displaying his ability to finish with either hand through contact, control the glass on both ends, and play within the flow of the game offensively. Like his teammate Allen, I was also impressed with the passing ability of Lassister, and that could be an intriguing piece of his development down the line.

Lassiter was one of the few Riverside role players who stepped up to provide Boyogueno with some help on Monday. He had three catch-and-shoot threes in the second half, all of which were crucial to keeping their offense afloat. But he also was impactful on the defensive end, matching up with both bigs and guards and holding up throughout the night. JJ’s shooting and defensive playmaking were quite impressive, and it will earn him minutes in tight spots during a potential deep playoff run.

. Lassiter plays in the post right now for the Warriors with a big frame and decent feet at the rim. Going into his Sophomore Season, most of JJ’s minutes will be determined by how well he controls the glass and covers ground defensively, so anything he can add as a scorer will be a plus.
