Isaiah is another player for Wayzata who may not have to shoot the ball much, but is extremely efficient with the chances he gets. He may be most known for his shooting touch at his size, but I thought he was excellent utilizing some backdoor cuts to get easy looks at the basket. With a point guard like Hayden Tibbits Hayden Tibbits 5'11" | PG Wayzata | 2023 State MN who excels at getting into the lane, Isaiah timed his cuts perfectly for quick dump off passes allowing him to finish with ease at the rim. Habte also had a really nice assist from the top of the key hitting one of his teammates for a backdoor dunk. Has solid mobility to defend against mobile forwards, but also the size to make an impact in the paint.

One of the reasons Wayzata came so close to coming back against Eastview was Habte’s performance in the second half. The 6’6 stretch-four knocked down four 3’s with his confident release from beyond the arc, and one of them even showed his poise as he got his man in the air with a shot-fake before taking on dribble to the side and shooting in the opened up space. Also impressed with a pair of passes from the top of the key zipped in with accuracy to a slashing teammate. With his length, shooting touch, mobility, and improved confidence on the floor he’ll be one to watch the rest of the year.
