When Zeigler gets hot there isn’t much you can do to stop him. He is a very talented jump shooter that can pour it in from beyond the arc and create his own shot in the mid-range. Zeigler, from Lutheran East High School in Ohio, was excellent in Kansas City shooting 59.0% from the field and 9-19 (47.4%) from three-point range while averaging 16.0 points per game.

Heady point guard out of Ohio showed really good poise when running the offense. The lightning quick guard showed his court vision in the open floor while staying aggressive looking for his shot opportunities. Really good in the pick and roll. Drives hard and creates separation where he can knock down the midrange or hit the roll man. Only gotten to see him a hand full of time and was really impressed with his feel on the offensive end.

Already a two-time state champion, Zeigler is an extremely talented combo guard who has been on Prep Hoops radar since he dominated at the Freshman showcase a little under two years ago. Zeigler is an elite shooter who has the athleticism to play above the rim and create space off the dribble. With more talent on his Indy Heat squad this season, Zeigler will be expected to help lead them to a Peach Jam run after the program won the championship at the 16 U level last season. Already being pursued by high major programs, Zeigler holds offers to Ohio State, Nebraska and Creighton.

A dominant performance by one of the top 2028 prospects in the Midwest, Zeigler put the Lutheran East offense on his back during stretches of their win over host Euclid. Zeigler knocked down a couple of deep 3-pointers off DHO concepts and what I loved most about his game was that he didn’t start settling for 3’s after making a couple early. Instead, Zeigler got to the lane and had some tough floaters and had a nasty reverse pivot fallaway 10 foot shot. I also loved a couple tough rebounds that Zeigler had in traffic, just making winning plays. Expect high major programs to start prioritizing Zeigler this summer at the 16 U level for Indy Heat.

Lutheran East is going for a record fourth straight title and Zeigler is their leading returning scorer and a high major prospect. After Richmond Heights had the opportunity to win a record fourth straight state title and Lutheran East stopped them, the Falcons are now the team that everybody will be trying to snap their streak.

Continuing to score the ball at an elite level, Zeigler scored 21 points in both of the 15 U contests he had today as his scoring ability translates against the best of the best in the country. With a quick first step and deep range from the outside, it’s really pick your poison in how to guard Ziegler. I also was encouraged by Zeigler’s active hands defensively, being active on the ball and securing 10 rebounds in the game I caught. Look for Zeigler to start to make national noise if he continues to perform at this level for the remainder of the EYBL season.

Our top ranked player in the state, Zeigler has the tools to become a nationally ranked prospect when it’s all said and done. Coming from a basketball family, Zeigler has the genetics and athleticism that stands out when you watch him play. The separator skill for me when watching Zeigler is his elite shooting ability that forces defenses to guard him well beyond the 3-point line. I expect Zeigler to start earning national attention after getting some brief love after a dominant showing at Flyin’ To The Hoop back in January.

Zeigler showcased balance in his game by doing a little bit of everything. He showed that he could score tough buckets. Zeigler hit a really tough three as time expired in the 2nd quarter going into halftime. He plays calm, cool and collected throughout the game and doesn’t seemed to get fazed by the moment. He does a good job moving as a slasher without the basketball. His branchlike limbs allow him to cover ground with ease. Zeigler can make plays coming off of pin-downs. He put himself in the right spots to get rebounds and steals. Zeigler chipped in 12 points. I would like to see Zeigler be more of an alpha dog scorer he has the ability to score at will when he puts his mind to it.

There wasn’t a better offensive performance put on by a young player all weekend than what Zeigler showed in the second half Vs Huntington Prep. Showing off his whole offensive bag, Zeigler was hitting some nasty pull-up jumpers in defenders faces. Doing it against a team flooded with Division I recruits, Zeigler is showing why he’s one of the top freshman in Ohio and will debut extremely high in our 2028 rankings when they are published in April.

Lutheran East suffered their first loss of the season in a tough back and forth contest with Warrensville Heights. While the young Falcons will grow and learn from this loss, they had some bright spots fighting back into the game. Zeigler hit some insane 3-pointers to bring his team back into the game, shooting the ball with a ton of confidence. It was another performance that showed why Zeigler is one of the premier prospects in Ohio’s 2028 class.
