Prep Hoops Indiana made the trip out to Kansas City for Nike EYBL Session III. With it not being a live period it made for a much quieter, easier to navigate gymnasium which is a perfect setting for getting evaluations done. Obviously, we have seen all of these players in the past as well, but it was good to get to see them play at such a high level. Let's empty out the notebook and share some thoughts on some of the top prospects that we got the chance to watch at Nike EYBL Session III in Kansas City.

One of the bright spots for [program_tooltip program_id='2076927' first='Indy' last='Heat'] 15u at EYBL Session III in Kansas City was this 6'3" skilled, athletic guard from Liberty Center High School in Ohio. Badenhop played especially well on Sunday and Monday making three three-point shots in both games and really showcasing his scoring prowess. His combination of length in the backcourt, athleticism, and skill will be worth tracking over the coming years.

One of the most talented young prospects in the state of Ohio is this freshman from Lutheran East High School. [program_tooltip program_id='2076927' first='Indy' last='Heat'] 15u had a tough go of it overall in Kansas City, but this 6'6" wing played well showcasing his impressive perimeter skill. Irby put up 13.8 points per game while shooting 9-22 (40.9%) across four games. It doesn't take long to recognize why Prep Hoops Ohio has him ranked as the top prospect in their Class of 2029.

This versatile wing from Anderson High School continues to serve as a valuable piece for Meansteets 16u. His ability to play several different positions allows him to find his way on the floor often. Jackson has the size to slide up to the 4 where he can still rebound while also stretching the floor as a catch-and-shoot threat or whipping bigger defenders off of the dribble. However, he is also skilled enough to play in the backcourt. He did a little bit of everything out in Kansas City.

This 6'6" wing had his best overall session of the spring so far averaging 11.7 points and 4.3 rebounds per game for Meanstreets 17u. Lampley shot 5-10 (50.0%) from three-point range in three games showcasing his catch-and-shoot ability. We continue to believe that he projects best as a bigger, "3-and-D" wing at the next level that can really lean into his ability to shoot the basketball.

Just before EYBL Session III in Kanas City tipped off Kam Mercer announced that he was reclassifying to 2027 and committing to the hometown Cincinnati Bearcats. The big, strong, left-handed guard is an excellent playmaker who impacts winning in a lot of ways. He passes it at a high level, rebounds very well from perimeter, defends, and causes matchup problems due to his size in the backcourt. Mercer averaged 7.8 points, 4.0 rebounds, 4.5 assists, and 2.0 steals per game for [program_tooltip program_id='2076927' first='Indy' last='Heat'] 17u.

Welker has continued to be a solid role player for this [program_tooltip program_id='2076927' first='Indy' last='Heat'] 17u team. He saved his best performance of the weekend for last in Kansas City as the versatile 6'7" forward from Homestead High School knocked in a couple of big three-point shots and finished with 10 points and 6 rebounds in a win. His ability to stretch the floor while also rebounding at a high level is why the low/mid-major offers continue to roll in this spring.

When Zeigler gets hot there isn't much you can do to stop him. He is a very talented jump shooter that can pour it in from beyond the arc and create his own shot in the mid-range. Zeigler, from Lutheran East High School in Ohio, was excellent in Kansas City shooting 59.0% from the field and 9-19 (47.4%) from three-point range while averaging 16.0 points per game.
