Drew looks ready to step into an expanded role this season for Wayzata. He has the strength to play inside, but is mobile enough to play on the perimeter as a wing depending on what type of lineup Wayzata puts on the floor. Against Totino-Grace he made big plays in the second half, most of which were the result of hard off-ball cuts. Drew beat his man backdoor multiple times, and had some strong finishes at the rim against a team filled with size and athleticism. He’s also shown he’s a reliable shooter from beyond the arc.

Drew is a winning player and I really like how he works into his role on this Wayzata roster. He was able to out-muscle opponents for contested rebounds and loose balls, also impressing me with his ability to get downhill and finish right through traffic. He could do this with either hand, creating opportunities off the dribble or making back cuts for easy layups. He never forced anything and was a huge reason the Trojans had a good look on just about every possession.

The Wayzata pipeline has been elite for the last few years and it looks to continue with their 2024 class. Drew was a standout in just about every facet of the game in the matchup I saw and was constantly making plays all over the floor. It seemed as if he made the right decision on every play and is an extremely high IQ player. This was evident with him being able to find the openings in the defense to put himself in great position to receive passes from teammates that ended with easy layups. He also showed off his range with a tough pull-up three-pointer, shooting right over his defender. I would not be surprised if Nepstad carved out a solid role for himself this season with a deep Trojan roster.

is a 2024 forward from Wayzata who like a lot of previous Wayzata players has a good looking shot motion. Nepstad is smooth, no kinks, and has solid follow through at the top of his release. In one position, match-up with Mekonnen, Nepstad didn’t shy away from the match-up and drove to the basket for a score.
