Cordova played with noticeable confidence at the Expo and had stretches that guards simply couldn’t stop him. He’s so explosive off the dribble, blew by guards and finished at the rim. He was getting two-feet into the paint and there wasn’t many guards able to put much pressure onto the defense throughout the day. He had a couple of dribble drives, and pull-ups as well and uses his shiftiness and speed to get to where he wanted on the floor. He also started running the offense and getting teammates involved which is when the offense really opened up for him. He’s best when he’s providing a balance of scoring and facilitating as defenses have to adjust. This was a solid event for him. 

Cordova has always been a player who catches our attention, and we believe this could be the year he puts the full package on display getting his opportunity to shine. He’s a dynamic guard who understands how to use leverage, reads defenders well and consistently takes advantage of mistakes. Cordova plays with his head up, making him a willing and effective playmaker, but his offensive game really took a jump this summer. He can attack the rack with purpose and has proven to be a lights out shooter from the perimeter. The Expo is a perfect stage for Cordova to showcase that growth and establish himself against top competition

Cordova was magical with the ball in his hands, running the show as a true lead point guard. His handle stood out immediately, paired with elite change of direction and pace that kept defenders guessing all game long. He controlled the tempo, picking his spots to attack and getting into the paint with ease. He showed touch finishing around defenders while also delivering dimes to teammates in stride. His vision and feel elevated everyone around him, and he consistently made the right read. Cordova’s ability to create and command the game made him one of the most impactful guards at the tournament

Dray Cordova Dray Cordova 5'10" | PG/SG Northfield | 2028 State CO excels at knocking down difficult shots off the dribble and being a relentless scorer. Cordova minimizes turnovers and is always aware of the situation at hand. The 5’8 point guard out of Northfield has taken tremendous strides with his style of play, and it’s paid off. It’ll be fascinating to see where he improves his game moving forward and his progress up the rankings.

Cordova turned heads a few weeks back at the showcase with his two-way impact and fearless approach, and that is why he will be jumping onto the rankings this next go-round. He competed with top guards in the class, pushed the pace, and also showed a willingness to defend. Offensively, he created shots within rhythm and made smart reads for open cutters. Defensively,  he stayed active in passing lanes and was active. As he takes on a bigger role at Northfield, I expect him to keep rising with his energy and versatility, and that is how he will earn minutes this season.

Cordova was a player who made his presence felt at the showcase as he dominated at 3 on 3 and kept it going when it got to 5’s as well. He attacked isolation opportunities with elite ball-handling using quick bursts to get downhill and finish at the rim. On defense, he picked up full court, forcing turnovers and converting them into easy buckets. His willingness to compete on both ends makes him a guard worth following. Solid outing. 

Cordova is coming off a freshman season where he averaged 3 points, 1.4 rebounds, and 1.4 assists in limited minutes. The showcase provides a perfect stage for him to get his name on the map and display the depth of his offensive game. We want to see him put it all together and use his ability to attack the lane, finish in traffic, and impact the game from start to finish. A strong, complete performance here could elevate his stock and show he’s ready for a bigger role
