Thatch showed the versatility and athleticism that made him an intriguing player to watch at the showcase. He got out and ran the floor in transition, using his athleticism to make some impressive reverse finishes around the basket. Thatch also displayed the ability to play and defend multiple positions, using his body well to create advantages. Offensively he showed the ability to score at all three levels and knock down shots from the perimeter. His combination of size, versatility and offensive skill gives us plenty of excitement about where his game can go next
Thatch Jr. has the makings to be one of the most versatile players in the class, and his size and skill make him one of the most intriguing prospects in this class. He’s a 2029 that I bet has one of the biggest varsity jumps this year, and he will have many times that he swings a game. He’s active and a two-way menace. He’s lethal in the open court, and he can put the ball in the basket. Thatch Jr. reads the floor well, and you get him the ball and get out of the way or he plays within the flow to keep defenses honest. I am extremely high on him, and he makes a jump onto the rankings after spending time on the watch list.

is this class’s next breakout performer, and he will certainly play some varsity minutes with how he’s come on to begin the summer. He’s a gamer, and he walked into the weekend already carrying some buzz from the last event and somehow still exceeded it. Everything about his game translates. His confidence, pace, feel, and ability to impact both ends of the floor. He’s very athletic with a mature game and plays with control. Difficult plays look easy for him, and he could certainly stand out at the 16U level if he played up. I do think that he will pop soon and is a name to watch this season. Huge start to AAU for him.
Thatch Jr. did it all for Tru Colorado this weekend. His athleticism stands out first as he gets out and runs, breaks defenders down in isolation, and cannot be denied getting to the rim. He had some strong finishes inside and uses his size and athleticism to get some easy finishes. He’s a big guard who took on the defensive assignment as well, and that stood out for me as he challenged himself not hat end of the floor. He has a change of direction, a quick first step, and showcased an ability to score in various ways. He’s a bully ball guard that plays with an edge, and with what we saw, he will be a player who will go into the rankings coming up soon.
