Unsure where to start with Jamari, but he might’ve been the biggest stock riser at the event. He came in as one of the few varsity prospects at the event, and while that doesn’t tell it alone, his play did. He dominated and truly was one of the most impactful players at the event. What I appreciated about his game as the balance. He never became consumed with trying to score and still ended up being one of the top scorers on the day, but it was the little things. He defended and came up with steals; he wanted to guard the top players there, even battling against bigger players, communicated on that end, and made plays. Jamari seemed to always be open, he has good court awareness and knows where to be, hit a 3-pointer just checked of plenty of boxes. Even with mistakes, he hustled back and tried to get it back for his team. I would’ve put him on 1st Team All-Event if I had that. Point proven. 

Fleming is still young, so of course, he’s still a bit under the radar, but I feel as though he’s on the brink of having a breakout season. Fleming got to experience varsity as a freshman and had some solid moments that make you think that there’s something there. He’s a knockdown shooter, handles pressure well when getting switched onto and guarded closely, and also rebounds well. Fleming will be a player who can use his defense to get himself going, as he has quick hands and is instinctive. We did not get to see him this summer, but we will see him for Colorado Live and during showcase season, where he can show the type of player that he is. 

Jamari is a player who jumped on our radar as the start of the year as one of the few freshman in the state who was getting varsity minutes and first forward to now and for January, was one of Aurora Centrals best players. The game has seemed to slow down for him a bit, and he’s now looking more confident as a scorer and facilitator. The Trojans are on a 5-game winning streak, and in January, he’s put together a couple of double-figure games. He’s been the team’s most active defender, and he impacts the game on both ends of the floor. He’s a 2029 to follow. 

Fleming has quietly become one of Aurora Central’s most reliable floor spacers and now top players on the team. The smooth lefty shoots it with confidence, plays within the offense, and understands how to impact the game without forcing action. His defensive instincts and passing complement the scoring and he’s only getting better with each passing game. For a freshman adjusting to varsity speed, the comfort level is impressive and signals a player who belongs. He’s a player to keep an eye on who we want to see more of and will be making his debut in the rankings.
