Spring Kickoff tipped off Friday at Metro State, and from the opening moments it was clear the players were ready for the stage. The energy was high, the competition was strong and a number of players stepped up and made the most of the opportunity in front of them. With summer upon us, this wasn't just another night in the gym but it was an early statement. Players showed growth, confidence and the ability to impact the game in different ways, giving a glimpse of what they're capable of moving forward. The talent was on full display, and these performances set the tone for what could be a big summer of basketball ahead.

Adekale was dynamic with the ball in his hands throughout the tournament, consistently putting pressure on the defense. His ability to change pace kept defenders off balance, allowing him to get downhill and attack the rim with confidence. He finished strong through contact and showed great body control in traffic. Whether in transition or the half court, he played with poise and purpose, making smart decisions while still being aggressive. His burst and feel stood out, and he proved to be a tough cover all weekend. Adekale's performance highlighted his scoring ability and overall impact as a playmaker who can change the game in a second

Jenkins used his length to control the game on both ends throughout the tournament. He consistently established strong post position, making himself an easy target inside while forcing defenders into tough spots. His mid range touch was impressive, knocking down shots with confidence when given space. On the glass he was active and physical, securing rebounds and creating extra possessions. Defensively his length altered everything around the rim, leading to blocks and countless difficult looks for opponents. Jenkins made it tough on anyone he matched up with and showed his value as a reliable interior presence

Cordova was magical with the ball in his hands, running the show as a true lead point guard. His handle stood out immediately, paired with elite change of direction and pace that kept defenders guessing all game long. He controlled the tempo, picking his spots to attack and getting into the paint with ease. He showed touch finishing around defenders while also delivering dimes to teammates in stride. His vision and feel elevated everyone around him, and he consistently made the right read. Cordova's ability to create and command the game made him one of the most impactful guards at the tournament

Lewis was a surprise standout who played with a fearless mentality all tournament long. No shot seemed to faze him, as he confidently let it fly from deep with impressive range. His quick jumper made it tough for defenders to contest, especially with how fast he gets it off. Beyond his shooting he showed his athleticism and speed, attacking when defenders closed out too hard. He brought great energy and confidence every time he stepped on the floor, making a noticeable impact. Lewis proved he's a name to watch with his ability to score and play without hesitation

Serna played with a clear chip on his shoulder and brought relentless energy every time he stepped on the floor. He attacked aggressively, putting constant pressure on the defense and getting to his spots with purpose. His mid range game was a reliable weapon, knocking down shots when defenses tried to take away the drive. On the other end he stayed locked in, competing on every possession and making things difficult for his matchup. His toughness, effort and competitive edge stood out, showing he's the type of player who impacts the game well beyond the box score
