Really like his scoring prowess and how he found different ways to put the ball in the bucket. He doesn’t give up on chances and was able to score off of 2nd chance efforts. I like how he sacrificed body for the good off the team and took charges. Is able to score as an off-ball slasher. Starts the break and can get the ball through tight gaps in the defense to get teammates scoring chances. Needs to play with less hands and use his feet more on defense when he is guarding.

Ellis-Cipriano looked excellent this weekend. The 6-foot-2 guard was shifty with the ball in his hands and showed off some special athleticism at the hoop, including a crazy contested dunk against BABC (he didn’t look like he had any business dunking the rock on a baseline drive, but it was the best poster I saw this weekend). He uses his length quite well at the hoop for finishes, but he can also shoot it from the outside and plays with a good pace and feel. I’m not sure where Ellis-Cipriano will end up next season, but high D3 programs should be extremely intrigued by his combination of athleticism, skill, and length. Some D2’s will probably be interested, too, as he already has an offer from Monroe University.

Ellis-Cipriano, a senior out of Bishop Hendricken, saved his best effort last, dropping 38 points and grabbing 12 rebounds in his team’s Open State Tournament semifinal loss to Central. A dynamic playmaker, he used his athleticism, burst, and length to finish at a high level around the rim, while also proving to be a tough shot maker in the mid-range and from behind the arc. His quickness allowed him to make plays as an on-ball defender and in passing lanes, and he took full advantage of his athleticism in the open floor as both a scorer and creator.

Ellis-Cipriano, a guard out of Bishop Hendricken High School in Rhode Island, has continued his breakout this winter, impressing with his athleticism, skill, and two-way playmaking abilities. The guard has a terrific first step off the bounce, the ability to finish in a variety of ways around the rim, and continues to develop his ability to score from the perimeter. He puts a ton of pressure on the rim in transition, makes good decisions as a ball-handler in ball screens, and is capable of setting his teammates up to score. He has the ability to be a disruptive point of attack defender, can really move his feet to stay in front of the ball, and uses his quickness to create havoc in passing lanes. Ellis-Cipriano is one of the better uncommitted guards from the public school rankings in New England, and thus, would be a terrific recruit at the Division III level; however, I wouldn’t be surprised if he goes the post-graduate route, where he could develop into a scholarship level prospect.

Ellis-Cipriano, a senior wing out of Bishop Hendricken High School, was a breakout performer this summer and has the chance to play at an all-state level this winter. He’s a dynamic playmaker with the ball in his hands, has the athleticism to finish plays above the rim in space, and continues to add elements to his game on the offensive end of the floor. Beyond that, his ability to function as a versatile defender stands out, as he’s terrific at creating turnovers with his length, quickness, and activity level.

Ellis-Cipriano, the #176 overall prospect and 27th ranked combo guard, is a long and lean athlete that can really go on the offensive end of the floor. He’s elite in transition, showing a good feel as a scorer when he can get out in space, and also does a nice job of operating off the ball as a shot maker. He continues to evolve as a playmaker, particularly when making decisions out of ball screens. Defensively, his physical tools stand out and allow him to make plays both on the ball and in passing lanes. A breakout performer this summer, he’s a fringe scholarship prospect that will be a priority at the Division III level.
