Wood, a guard out of the St. Andrew’s School in Rhode Island, proved to be one of the best guards at the event with his advanced feel for the game and ability to impact winning. The 5’10” guard was in constant attack mode this weekend, showing the ability to play through contact as a driver, and to finish it in a variety of ways in the paint. He’s got a quick first step, plays with good burst when attacking the rim, and has enough athleticism to get his shot off when defenders are in the area. He’s got good enough vision to create for his teammates off the bounce and also shows the ability to knock down threes both off the catch and the dribble. Defensively, he hounds opposing ball-handlers while also showing good instincts off the ball and the ability to make plays in passing lanes.
