Expert Analysis
Robbie Hodin | Prep Hoops Scout
Taylor has been one of the more dominant players in MIAA D2 this year. The 6-foot guard is a three level scorer who doesn’t have an offensive weakness. He can athletically finish at the rim—especially for reverse layups—but he also has deep shooting range. When he’s double teamed, Taylor has really solid vision and is a willing and able passer.

Taylor, a senior guard out of Somerset Berkley, has been on an absolute heater as of late. After helping Somerset Berkley to a state championship last winter, he has taken on an even bigger scoring and playmaking load this winter. The 6’1″ guard passed the 1,000-point mark in early February and had a remarkable game just two days ago when he scored 51 points and hauled in 12 rebounds. He has a college ready frame, plays off a quick first step as a driver, and can score it with creativity around the rim. He’s super competitive, contributes on both ends of the floor, and has proven that his play can directly impact winning.

He instantly can heat up, from deep can score off the quick catch and shoot or off the bounce. Defensively played just as good as anyone on the floor getting multiple tips and steals. Really disrupted the Masco team especially in the second half on defense with his quickness. He sliced Masco defense getting to the rack and had a beautiful left-handed baseline drive finish. He is a scorer that can easily lead both teams in points on any given night. If he wants could play D3 basketball in two years.
