Scholl might be the definition of a plug-and-play prospect. He understands how to find holes in the defense, gets himself into the right spots, and seems comfortable doing whatever a lineup needs from him, and we got to see that at the showcase as well as in our last tournament. At this event, Scholl rebounded, screened, popped into space, and competed defensively with a strong frame that made him difficult to score through. There is a good feel behind his versatility, and he doesn’t need too many touches, but is effective when he has the ball. His game translates because you can put him alongside anybody, and I feel that you’ll get the same kind of player, which is rare. Adding more individual creation and having those moments he just wants to take over as a scorer as well would make an already useful player even more intriguing.

Scholl was a problem all weekend for Colorado Wildcats. He owned the paint, carved out space, and went up on rebounds. He was one of the toughest players in 15U on the weekend and influenced plenty of plays for his team. I saw a game where he was finishing through contact, challenging shots at the rim, got a couple of rebounds, and pushed it out on outlet passes. Scholl set physical screens and opened up the floor for his teammates. He kept battling for second-chance opportunities and even capped off the weekend with a buzzer-beater on a turnaround from half-court. These are the type of players you can build around, and he brought it all weekend. He’s a name who jumped on the radar. 

Scholl was a spark for Wildcats Basketball and he was able to affect the game in multiple areas. He was at the front of the press and causing havoc with his speed, length, and athleticism. He turned players over, was very active trying to cause turnovers, and had plenty of steals where he went right up with the ball. He sealed guys on the block, flashed to the right spots, and was dangerous at the high post. He rotated the ball, and I think he’s going to be a real player when it all comes together. He’s a player I did not know much about heading into the event that I am certainly intrigued by now.
