Will Armishaw | Prep Hoops Scout
Gaymon, a guard out of Putnam Science Academy in Connecticut, checks in at #4 among the combo guards and #30 overall. One of the region’s most consistent scorers, Gaymon showed the ability to go off for huge nights this winter, including posting a 30-point triple double in January. He’s an athletic 6’3″ that scores off limited dribbles, while also showing the ability to elevate over defenders to get off his jumper. He makes plays for others, particularly in space, and is capable of pulling down double digit rebounds in any given game. Defensively, he’s tenacious at the point of attack, playing with a great combination of size, strength, and agility. He has yet to announce his plans for the next level.

A natural scorer who can put the ball in the basket at all three levels. Possesses good positional size and plays with a noticeable chip on his shoulder. I like how aggressive he is offensively and his ability to create shots for himself. His pull-up game is a strong part of his arsenal and allows him to score effectively in the mid-range.

Gaymon is a smooth guard who can score in a variety of ways within the flow of the offense. He does a good job getting downhill and putting pressure on the rim. When he’s aggressive, he has the ability to take over a game on the offensive end. Gaymon is also a tough defender who consistently gets his hands in the passing lanes. He plays with good anticipation and competes on that end of the floor. On top of that, he isn’t afraid to come down and rebound his position. His all-around impact makes him a guard who influences winning on both ends.

Gaymon, a guard out of Putnam Science Academy in Connecticut, makes his first appearance in the rankings at #36. Gaymon made his way to Putnam this summer and breaks into the rankings after a strong start to the prep season. A high level athlete, he is a jack-of-all-trades that can does whatever is asked of him to win basketball games. He can make shots from behind the arc in catch and shoot situations, is a willing ball mover in the half-court, and has a nose for the ball on the offensive glass. His impressive athleticism stands out on the defensive end of the floor where he rebounds, protects the rim, and makes plays in passing lanes.

Gaymon had his fingerprints all over Putnam’s two games at NPS. He does a little bit of everything. Gaymon gathered steals and rebounds on defense and is always on the move. He seek outs contact well on the attack which allowed him to spend time at the charity stripe. His ability to find others for scoring opportunities was also seen. He also showed that he can score from behind the arc. Gaymon would be a great pickup at the LM, and JC ranks.

Gets to the paint effectively, as a combo guard can help relieve the pressure from point guard handling the ball. Shoots the rock well around the paint, but can grab rebounds on the other side. David is D1 talent and probably over looked because of the talent he is surrounded by. Underrated player who deserves more D1 offers. Listed at 6’4” but plays like he is 6’8” with his prowess on the ball defense. A true stock riser in my opinion.

Gaymon impressed with his versatility throughout the game. He was a threat off the ball converting chances from behind the arc. He has good positional size and length and uses it on both ends of the floor. He used his length to get rebounds. He also spent some time at the foul line. Gaymon showed he could make plays for others. He should see recruitment from schools at the low one and high two level this spring and summer.
