Cobb makes a significant jump in the rankings and lands in the Top-10 after the summer that he’s had. There were questions about his motor leading into the summer, and also doubts about him being able to consistently dominate on both ends in big games for the duration of the game, and he quieted all doubters with how he performed all summer long. Cobb checks off plenty of boxes that you want to see at the next level. He’s got size, is one of the most athletic players in the state, and he also showed that he can hit the 3-ball at a consistent clip. Cobb created a buzz for himself out of state and created a buzz amongst college coaches, where they reached out wanting to know more by doing a lot of what we see. He got out in transition and turned it into highlight dunks, set screens, and rolled where he got downhill, and also popped at times and showed that he could space the floor. I personally like how engaged he looked defensively. He’a matching other bigs physicality, blocking shots at the rim, and showing off his improved motor. This was a big summer for him, and we have to reward that. Expect to see more offers coming his way in the coming days. 

Cobb looked every bit like the high-level prospect we’ve come to expect, but this weekend, there was another layer to his offensive game. The outside shot looked cleaner, more confident, and he stepped into multiple threes without hesitation. We’ve heard about that growth, but we’ve wanted to see it, and now we have. Pair that with his ability to attack downhill and finish above the rim, and defenses were left picking their poison. The athleticism has always separated him, but seeing him become more comfortable as a stretch-big puts him in the upper echelon of players. He’s dangerous. Colorado Collective ran through pretty much everybody, and he’s who was manning the middle. He puts plenty of pressure on the defense, where they have to foul him or let him go add to his highlight reel. I like how aggressive he looked all weekend. 

Cobb really impressed with his play for Denver South and showed why he can be such an important piece for their success. He consistently established strong position on the block, making himself available as a scoring option and creating problems for defenders with his physicality and footwork. His ability to play with his back to the basket allowed him to control possessions and generate quality looks around the rim. Defensively he brought toughness and energy in the paint, contesting shots and battling for rebounds. What stood out most was how well he ran the floor in transition, using his basketball IQ and athleticism to create advantages. Whether finishing plays or setting up teammates, Cobb helped generate valuable scoring opportunities throughout the game

He’s a quick leaper who goes right up, he probes the paint and finds holes in the defense for dunks, and he’s an aerial attack as well as guards throw it up and trust that he’s going to come down with it. Those plays have given him a buzz all summer, and he came into the camp and had a few of those plays. Cobb is grabbing boards and pushing the break, he’s trying to get to the paint and finish at the basket, and forces other bigs to foul him. We want to see more aggression from him with him being so versatile, but he’s going to be a player who has some big games this year, with South having to dump it off to him. Big season ahead for him, and he’s continuing to turn heads this summer. 

Cobb showed all season why he’s one of the more dynamic players in his class. His ability to play above the rim made him a constant threat, while his strong paint presence allowed him to impact both ends of the floor. Defensively he brought toughness and physicality, matching up inside and making life difficult for opponents. He was just as versatile, scoring out of the post and stepping out to knock down the three. That combination makes him tough to guard. With his skill set and continued growth, expect Cobb to carry momentum into the summer and take another leap

Defensively he anchored the middle with two emphatic blocks and altered several more shots thanks to his length and relentless work down low. Offensively he battled for position, sealed defenders deep in the post, and finished strong around the rim. His physical presence and effort paid off as he powered his way to 13 hard earned points

Cobb caught fire in February and closed the regular season with his best performance yet, a sign he’s peaking at the perfect time. He’s been far more assertive offensively, hunting his shot with confidence and taking quality looks within the flow of the game. That added scoring punch complements what he already brings every night his relentless defense, strong rebounding and nonstop competitiveness. Cobb thrives against top competition, elevating his intensity when the stage gets bigger. If that trend continues, his edge and production could be exactly the spark Denver South needs for a deep tournament run

We’ve liked what we’ve seen from Cobb to begin the season, but if South wants to turn things around, they will need more from him. I expect him to pop this season and for him to get it right.
