Franklin is going to step into a much bigger role this season for Denver South, and it was evident by the plays that he made at the camp that they’re going to trust him more this season. He hit some big-time 3-pointers in multiple games and showed that he can open up the floor for South. He was rotating the ball quickly and relocating. He had a couple of mid-range pull-ups in both games that we saw and was one of the standouts on the team. South won the top bracket with him being a spark and consistent two-way option, and I am curious to see if he’s able to not only duplicate that performance but keep doing it throughout the year. Solid weekend for him as he had his moments.

Franklin was electric all weekend, putting defenders on high alert with his deadly three point range. The moment he had space, he was ready to let it fly, and his confidence from deep kept defenses stretched thin. What made him even tougher to guard was his sharp pump fake, using it to send defenders flying before attacking the lane for clean looks at the rim. He never stayed still, constantly moving without the ball, relocating and making himself available for scoring chances. That nonstop activity paired with his shooting touch made Franklin a dangerous offensive threat on the floor

Nacir is a player that we’ve seen have himself some solid days. He’s a glue guy who at times, takes over as the alpha as a skilled combo-guard that competes on every possession. This summer we saw him have his moments as guard who controls tempo, has a good balance of finishing at the rim and mid range jumpshots as well as turning guards over for easy scoring opportunities. Nacir goes and takes the game rather than allowing it to come to him and that is where you make your mark as a spark. For South, we’ve saw him also still make an impact for the team as a do-it-all guard, and that is exactly what they will need this year. He makes the jump.

Franklin had a solid day and proved himself at the showcase. The game comes easy to him but he also stays aggressive which creates scoring opportunities. He also was pushing the pace and turning players over with active hands. He controls tempo, gets by defenders and finishing and also knocked down a few mid-range jumpers. He stretched the floor as a confident shooter. He rebounded, ran the floor, and finished plays in transition. Franklin’s ability to impact the game as a versatile two-way gave his team a push.

Franklin has the potential to use The Expo as his coming out party and make a real statement. Equipped with the shiftiness and tight ball handling you want from a floor general, he consistently beats defenders off the dribble and finds creative ways to generate offense. His transition game is especially impressive, as he pushes the pace with purpose, keeping his head up to make smart decisions in fast break situations. Against the elite competition at the showcase, Franklin will have the perfect stage to highlight his playmaking ability, court vision, and leadership while proving he can control the game at a high level
