Sam will have to be the engine for Green Mountain, and they will go as they go. For Green Mountain at Colorado Live, he had to do everything for their team for them to be able to operate, and he’s going to take on another huge burden heading into his Senior year. Sam is one of the best scorers in the state, and I am sure that the numbers are going to back it. He gets into his mid-range shot as easily as anybody else in the state and rises up and hits it consistently. He also has the body and aggressiveness to keep sowing in bunches. Sam had a few stretches at Live where he was finishing around the basket, forced switches, and powered through. He does shy away from contact, he reads the double team, and he also got teammates involved as well. He’s had a solid summer, and this was another big-time performance. 

Meilenz put together an outstanding weekend, but his performance against Severance was where his dominance truly shined. In a rematch of a playoff battle against another talented guard, he played with poise, confidence and relentless energy from start to finish. He consistently attacked the basket, putting pressure on the defense and finishing through contact while delivering several highlight reel plays that had the crowd buzzing. His ability to create opportunities for teammates was equally impressive, as he balanced scoring and playmaking throughout the game. When Meilenz is playing at this level, he changes the complexion of a game. Performances like this will be crucial for both his development and Green Mountain’s success as they enter the upcoming season

Sam is a player who made a big jump in the rankings coming into the season, and he backed it up with a huge year. Sam averaged 22.8 points a game as the go-to scorer for Green Mountain, and he lit it up, even finishing as a 1,000-point scorer while in the playoffs. Sam is a tough shot taker, but a tough shot maker, and opponents had a difficult time not allowing him to get to his spots. He has one of the better face-up games in the state; he rises for mid-range shots and also shot 44% from beyond the arc as well. The 6’4 combo-guard is a big-time athlete and a prospect that I am sure will have some 40 & 50 point outings this summer, so make sure you tap in and check him out. He jumps in the rankings after a solid season. 

Mielenz will have to be at his best for Green Mountain to make a deep run. Averaging 23.8 points per game, he’s a proven scorer who can flip the momentum of a game in a hurry. His smooth shooting stroke and ability to get to his spots make him dangerous from all three levels, and he’s comfortable taking and making big shots. Just as important he plays under control, reads defenses well, and keeps teammates involved. In tight playoff games, that balance of scoring and poise will be everything

Mielenz was electric and a huge reason this one had so much juice. The natural shooter showed off his silky, confident stroke, pouring in 19 points and knocking down 4 shots from deep. He never stopped moving, working tirelessly to create space and make himself available. Every time he caught it, the defense felt the pressure. What made him even more dangerous is his growth on the defensive end which kept him locked in, disruptive and relentless from start to finish

Sam Mielenz Sam Mielenz 6'4" | SG Green Mountain | 2027 State CO is a key piece of the puzzle for Green Mountain and every team he’s on. During the past AAU season, Mielenz showed massive spurts of improvement, and the rankings speak for themselves. The 6’3 all-around scorer has put on a clinic in the first half of the season, putting up a roaring 22.6 PPG while shooting a consistent 49% from the field and 41% from way downtown. If Mielenz can become a stronger rebounder on the offensive end, watch out, because Mielenz has already honed in on his craft.

Mielenz is off to a terrific start for Green Mountain, nearly doubling his scoring average from last season while pouring in 24.3 points per game. He’s a natural scorer who’s tough to guard because of how easily he gets his shot off. Whether it’s attacking the rim, pulling up in the midrange, or knocking down shots from deep, he scores efficiently at all three levels. His confidence and rhythm have taken a clear jump, making him a constant offensive threat and a player defenses are struggling to contain

Sam Mielenz Sam Mielenz 6'4" | SG Green Mountain | 2027 State CO is coming off a monstrous summer with the Morgan Dawgz, having dropped multiple 40+ point games. Mielenz takes a tactical approach to his offensive scheme and finds creative ways to score the rock. Throughout the entirety of any contest, you’ll find Mielenz supporting his teammates and hyper-focused in huddles. With two more high school seasons to go, Mielenz will continue to develop into the superstar he’s becoming.

There might not be many better scorers than Mielenz in the entire state than what we’ve been seeing from him as of late. We’ve seen him score over 30 points on multiple occasions and also 50 points in the Tuneup last week. He led his team to a state title runner-up after putting up 14 points a game as a sophomore and has been scoring ablaze ever since. He’s a lethal shooter with range, can get to his spots and finish. He also reads double teams and makes smart reads. He made All-State as a sophomore and will be coming for vengeance. He was at No. 20 last go round and sits right outside the Top 10. With a huge year, with plenty of eyes on him , I am sure that he will continue to rise. 

Scoring an astounding 51 points in his Tune Up debut, Sam Mielenz was torching defenders left and right. With his incredible acceleration with the ball, Mielenz can create looks for himself from anywhere on the hardwood. A dynamic guard who can play the small forward when needed, Mielenz is just getting started in his basketball journey.
