UNC Team Camp once again delivered a weekend packed with high level competition, breakout performances and plenty of prospects making their case as some of the state's best. While countless players had strong showings, a select few consistently elevated their teams, dominated key moments and left the biggest impressions. These are the players who earned MVP honors from our perspective after an outstanding weekend of basketball.    Shepherd might have been the biggest riser and has certainly taken a major step forward over the last two weeks, and his game is reaching another level. His confidence, pace and overall command of the floor stood out every game he was on the court. What made him so effective was the way he controlled the tempo and forced defenders to play on his terms. He consistently put opponents in difficult situations, reading help defenders and making the right decision with the ball. His mid range game has become a real weapon, as he creates space with ease and knocks down tough shots at a high rate. When defenses try to take that away, he adjusts seamlessly making him one of the toughest players to contain right now and why Denver South could be in for very successful season     Meilenz put together an outstanding weekend, but his performance against Severance was where his dominance truly shined. In a rematch of a playoff battle against another talented guard, he played with poise, confidence and relentless energy from start to finish. He consistently attacked the basket, putting pressure on the defense and finishing through contact while delivering several highlight reel plays that had the crowd buzzing. His ability to create opportunities for teammates was equally impressive, as he balanced scoring and playmaking throughout the game. When Meilenz is playing at this level, he changes the complexion of a game. Performances like this will be crucial for both his development and Green Mountain's success as they enter the upcoming season     Powell was the driving force behind Severance's success this weekend, and his performance against Green Mountain showcased exactly why he is one of the most dangerous players on the floor. His spacing and shooting range was on full display forcing defenders to extend well beyond the arc and opening up opportunities for both himself and his teammates. When Severance needed a play, Powell consistently delivered. He created scoring chances with ease, whether it was knocking down deep shots, attacking openings or setting up teammates. What stood out most was his ability to rise to the moment, making one clutch play after another when the game was on the line. His leadership and offensive firepower were instrumental in securing a big win     Sokolowski looks poised for a monster season after the way he performed at UNC Team Camp. Standing out with his size, athleticism and physicality he proved to be a matchup nightmare for opponents throughout the weekend. He showed the ability to score at all three levels, but his impact around the basket was especially impressive. His dominance in the paint is a reflection of the hard work he has put into developing his game, and that growth continues to show every time he takes the floor. What makes him even more valuable is his versatility where he can finish above the rim offensively while serving as a strong rim protector on the defensive end. That combination will be a major asset for Horizon this season and could make him one of the most impactful players in the state     Patrick was another of the big riser from the weekend, consistently making his presence felt on both ends of the floor. He is incredibly smooth and composed in the low post, showing the patience and confidence of a seasoned player whenever he touched the ball. His footwork, balance and technique created matchup problems for nearly every opponent he faced, allowing him to score efficiently around the basket. Patrick's impact was just as important defensively for the Bruins. He protected the paint, battled for rebounds and consistently cleaned up possessions on the glass. His toughness and physicality helped set the tone for Cherry Creek and played a major role in the team's successful weekend performance
