Expert Analysis
Bobby Lopez | Prep Hoops Scout
Sokolowski used his size and strength to truly own the interior throughout the weekend. He controlled space with physicality, carving out position and making it difficult for defenders to move him off his spots. What stood out even more was his finesse to go along with that power, as he moved well, showed touch and picked his moments to attack. He got to the rim with authority, finishing strong and consistently putting pressure on opposing bigs. On the glass he was dominant, securing rebounds in traffic and creating second chance opportunities. Sokolowski’s presence inside impacted both ends and made him one of the more reliable interior forces at the event

Noah is one of the top risers in the class because he continues to get closer and closer to being a Top 5 prospect. Noah was named the Granite Peaks League Player of the Year after averaging 21.1 points and 14.5 rebounds a game, which was amongst the top stats in the state. To go along with that, the 6’9 big man also averaged just under 3 blocks a game as well. He’s a tall and athletic big man who makes opponents think twice before going into the paint with him. He grabs the board and can start the break. He’s also now a high flyer that they throw the ball up, and he goes and finishes over the top of defenders. He’s coordinated, runs the floor well, and finishes through contact as well. Noah put up double figures in every single game this season and looks to be getting even better. I think this is the summer that D1’s get on board, as he’s one of Colorado’s best. All eyes are on him.

has carried the Horizon Hawks to the promised land, tacking on monstrous numbers this season with nearly 21 PPG, 14.3 RPG, and 2.7 BPG. Crashing the boards like there’s no tomorrow, Sokolowski combines his effort and focus with ultimate size at 6’9 to detonate on any defenders getting in between himself and the rim. This past season, he applied the strong momentum with the
Colorado Roughriders
in club season and translated it to the competitive high school scene. With impeccable footwork and a strong determination to win games, Horizon and its multitude of elite scorers have earned themselves a 19-4 record and a serious shot at winning the state championship. In only his junior year, Sokolowski’s ceiling doesn’t have any limits.

Sokolowski returns as a 6A All State honorable mention for Horizon with expectations sky high after a dominant sophomore season averaging 20.7 points and 10.3 rebounds. This year, he’s poised to take even more control of games with his ability to score at all three levels. His size allows him to punish defenders inside, while his polished mid range touch and expanded three point range keep defenses stretched. He runs the floor with purpose, consistently gets to his spots and anchors the paint with strong rebounding and shot defense, making him one of the league’s most impactful players

is a force to be reckoned with if you’re on his team. On the flip side, if you’ve been assigned the brutal task of guarding Sokolowksi, I send my sincerest condolences. With his ginormous size at 6’9, defenses struggle to contain Sokolowski down low. Featuring impressive footwork and presenting utmost physicality, Sokolowski is just getting started. If he develops a consistent jumpshot… good luck.

Noah makes a rise after having a monster year that was vastly under rated what he was able to accomplish as only a junior. He had monster numbers and led a solid yet young team to a 20-4 record. They now feel they have some unfinished business this upcoming season, and the scary part about it is that Noah might’ve taken a step over the summer. He’s a 6’9 paint beast that finishes over the top, grabs rebounds, and goes right up for dunks, and is an incredible athlete with length. He moves his feet, has nice touch around the rim and is a finisher. He also rebounds in bunches, is not easily moved down low, and is a player that I expect to garner plenty of attention this year. He makes the jump and comes in as our top big in the Top-10.

Sokolowski plays with relentless pace, constantly hustling up and down the floor and setting a high energy tone for his team. His low post game has made noticeable strides and he’s confident backing down defenders, using leverage, pivots and footwork to create space and finish around the rim. He also mixes in short hooks and face up jumpers when defenses sag keeping opponents guessing. On the defensive end Sokolowski is tough and disciplined forcing players to earn every basket. He contests shots and uses his positioning to disrupt passing lanes. His effort extends to every possession, whether it’s crashing the boards for second chance points or sprinting the floor in transition. By impacting the game on both ends Sokolowski continued to prove that he’s a versatile, hard nosed player who can change the tone and pace for his team

Noah is a player who dominated during the high school season, putting up a monster stat line of 18.3 points and 11.7 rebounds per game to showcase his offensive ability. He scores from anywhere that he wants in the paint, and they make sure to feed the big man, but he also uses his length to go get boards and finish over the top as well. He catches the ball, finishes with either hand, and has a back-to-the-basket game. He also goes up for dunks through or over defenders. Defensively, he’s a paint protector as well. He put up 2.6 rebounds a game as well, which made opponents second-guess trying to go into the paint on him. He was No. 19 last time around and sits just outside the Top 10. He has strong momentum to jump into the Top 10 with a stellar summer.

Noah is a solid athlete with size, utilizing his 6’8 frame to impact the game. He has an elite motor, gets down the floor, and finishes above the rim for countless dunks. He also showcases the ability to shoot it, and that opens up the floor and the rest of the game, as opposing bigs have to choose how to defend him. In this tournament, it was all on display as he had countless dunks in every game. He rebounds well, grabs boards out of his area, and battles down low. He reached the FT line with his work alone, making opponents uncomfortable. This was also a setting where he was the lone big man, which allowed him to stand out a bit more as a big. He is a natural scorer who excels with the ball in his hands, scores in bunches, and alters shots around the rim. The more I see him, the more I like him.
