Barron is a catalyst type of player where he doesn’t have to be the big time scorer or have the ball to continue making plays and when you watch him, he stands out by committing to the little things. He’s constantly looking to make plays, he’s setting screens, cutting, getting out in transition and you can tell he knows what’s happening out on the floor. He finds gaps, he makes the right reads and hits slashers with good passes. He also recognizes his own opportunities and gets to the basket so having that balance will open things up for him. Barron isn’t full on ball dominant, but he can when needed. His freshman season should be about learning how to handle pressure, command teammates and take on more of an alpha with the ball role. If he does that, the game will continue rising naturally. He’s a player who easily jumps on the watch list.

Barron gave a good glimpse of what he can provide as the floor general. He got the ball in his hands and made plays, kept his eyes up, and did a nice job recognizing cutters instead of becoming locked onto his first option. As he settled into the dat he also became more comfortable looking for his own opportunities and started getting finishes around the basket. That balance was encouraging for him as the day progressed. Barron didn’t need to dominate the basketball to make his mark, and he knew when to facilitate or make a play for himself.
