One of the nation’s top guards in the 2027 class, Daughtry led the Rebels in scoring during EYBL play. He is a highly skilled lead guard who can pass, handle, and shoot at a high level, with deep range on his jumper. He has better than average quickness, does an excellent job changing speeds, and plays with a very high basketball IQ, allowing him to control the game and produce consistently.

I think there’s a chance Daughtry has the best college career of any guard in the 2027 class due to his elite shooting ability, basketball IQ and likelihood of having a multi-year college career. Daughtry is an elite shooter from the outside who looks to have gotten a little stronger since I last saw him in person in the fall. Able to execute from set plays, Daughtry had multiple buckets off BLOB sets. In sudden death overtime, Daughtry had a steal and threw down a breakaway dunk to win the game for his team, making a clutch play to decide the outcome. If I was recruiting a guard in the 2027 class at basically any program in the country, I’d be interested in bringing in Daughtry.

Coming in as one of the headliners of the event, Daughtry backed up his status while getting the day started with a prolific effort as the Eagles pulled away in the fourth for a comfortable win. The highly-touted junior guard was consistent throughout the game, pouring in 31 points and 5 assists while playing largely mistake-free basketball and picking his spots with poise and maturity. Despite a slender frame, Daughtry was at his best attacking the rim, showing a quick first step with polished footwork in the lane, advanced touch as a finisher, and burgeoning athleticism to take off in space. He was consistently able to make his teammates better, spoonfeeding open looks with timely passes after attracting extra defensive attention. Daughtry also flashed his shotmaking touch, converting 12 of his 14 free throw attempts despite going just 1-for-6 from beyond the arc. He left little doubt as to why he’s regarded among the top junior guards in the country.

The most dominant performance of the championship weeks belonged to Daughtry, who averaged over 30 points in the semifinal and championship victories. The dynamic guard controlled the game with his combination of shooting ability, advanced ball skills, and outstanding decision-making. He consistently created scoring opportunities for himself while also demonstrating impressive court vision as a playmaker. Daughtry continues to solidify his reputation as one of the nation’s top point guards.

One of the nation’s top point guards, Daughtry averaged over 25 points per contest in a two game split for Calvary Christian. Daughtry is a wizard with the ball in his hands and is a shot maker from anywhere inside 25 feet. The junior has an extremely high basketball IQ and will be one of the most sought after prospects in the 2027 class.

Daughtry was one of the my favorite point guards to watch this summer playing up on the EYBL Circuit with Florida Rebels . The combination of feel, pace, and killer mentality that he brings as a lead guard is a joy to watch. Through three OTE games this season, that cold-blooded scoring ability has taken centerstage as the 6-foot-1 point guard is logging 32.3 points per contest, which ranks third in the league. He’s shooting just below 40 percent from deep, which is admirable due to the fact that the majority are coming off the bounce and his own creation. He’s also dishing out seven dimes and grabbing five rebounds per game as Fear of God Athletics sit with a 2-1 overall record.

After a strong showing playing up on the EYBL circuit, Daughtry was again shining against mostly older competition on Friday. The change of pace ability on the ball that Daughtry showed really stood out to me as he made a couple hesitation dribble moves that left the defense in the dust. One of the top offensive engines in the 2027 class, Daughtry is an elite shooter who can also create for himself off the dribble.

Daughtry was one of the most productive 2027 prospects who played up at the 17 U level across any circuit this season. An elite all around offensive player, Daughtery is one of the top shooters in the country but much more than a specialist. Daughtery averaged over 20 PPG during the EYBL season, shooting over 45% from 3-point range. If Daughtery can continue to grow and fill out his frame, he could take his game to another level. At the moment Daughtery looks like one of the top college guard prospects in the country but that physical development could give him NBA upside as well.

Cayden Daughtry is a confident shooter from 3-point land. He has a quick release and makes contested shots. He also has the ability to create separation off the dribble and he protects the rock well on his way to the basket. His top offensive output of the camp was 24 points, and he averaged 14 PPG.

One of the most electric guards in Florida’s 2027 class, Daughtry has been torching national competition and showing why he’s considered a top-three prospect in the state. His elite quickness, creativity off the bounce and ability to finish around the rim make him a matchup problem. Whether it’s breaking down defenders with a tight handle or slipping through gaps for crafty scoop shots and floaters, Daughtry is producing against the best.
