About Carson

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I'm a hustle player always looking to create for my teammates and myself, still learning and growing, getting stronger in the game and the way I think about the game. Working hard on developing scoring on all fronts, from 3, mid-range, at the basket and at the line. Hard worker on defense who will crash the boards at all times.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I'm believe I have a team win mentality, while everyone likes to score (including me) I also understand that the game can be won on the defensive side, and by doing the small things like grabbing loose balls or tipping a pass. I take pride in feeding my teammates nice passes and taking smart shots. Ultimate goal is to win and I understand I might not always be the highest scorer when that happens.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

In Junior High, I was a Junior National Honors Society member, a School Ambassador who welcomed and showed new kids around the school, and a member of the High Ability Math class.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have attended some camps (PGC) that challenged me to understand the game better, and to push my development as a leader on the floor. I can be a "hype guy" when needed for my team or lead through working hard. I have also spent a lot of extra hours with my 8th grade coach, Eli Kvachkoff, since the season and he has been forcing me to look at the game through different angles and not only me.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I had a stress fracture from rapid growth during my 8th grade season and had to miss about a month of the season, which was really hard. It allowed me to focus on being a great teammate and building up the guys that were playing even though I was pretty upset I couldn't play.

What type of college are you looking for?

I want a college that will challenge me to become a better version of myself, a school where I can meet a lot of new people and develop new relationships while pushing me in basketball to continue to become a complete player by learning about the game.
