Teixeira quickly caught our eye at the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase last fall as one of the top performers at the event. We also had a chance to see him a time or two this summer with Grand Park Premier , but it will be good to see how the 6’4″ forward has progressed going into his sophomore season. With so much talent at Crown Point High School right now this Sophomore ID Camp is a perfect opportunity for Teixeira to get some exposure of his own.

Teixeira possess excellent size and physicality for his age. He can be a very difficult matchup for opposing defenses because he is skill enough to face up and drive it, or shoot it, against bigger defenders but can also physically dominate smaller defenders around the basket. Crown Point has as much young talent right now as any program in the state, but Teixeira will certainly be one that factors into the equation in the years to come.

Dating back to our Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase we have had this young Crown Point High School forward on our radar. Teixeira played well for Grand Park Premier Pro16 over the weekend as well showcasing his strength and physicality around the basket. He does a great job of finishing inside, rebounding his area, and holding his ground defensively on the block.

You can’t teach the strength and physical tools that this young prospect possesses. Teixeira looks like a kid who has worked hard in the weight room already and that translates to his style of play on the floor. He is effective around the basket using his strength to play through contact and punish smaller defenders. The Crown Point High School product also has quick feet and is an active rebounder on both ends of the floor.

Teixeira wasn’t quite a big as some of the other interior prospects at the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase, but he made up for the inch or two height discrepancy with his physicality and quick footwork. The Crown Point High School post presence was able to score on the block when the ball was thrown to him and did a good job of maintaining spacing from the dunker’s spot as the ball was driven. He was an effective rebounder and defender as well.
