Cherokee Trail is having a very good season, and they have some balance this year. They have reliable guard play and big men who compete. Hopkins has brought it all season and been one of the best parts of the season. He’s a glue guy and a catalyst for the team that they operate around, and he’s a vital piece to the puzzle. The 6’4 forward has been all over the boards; he’s set screens and rolled and backed defenders down for tough baskets. Hopkins is a strong and traditional big with soft touch around the rim; he boards out of his area and runs the floor well. He has excellent hand-eye coordination and finishes. He’s up to 8.4 points and 6.6 rebounds a game and is a big reason that Cherokee Trail has been turning heads all season long. I expect a big finish to the conference for him.
Hopkins made a strong impression this fall and looks like a real X-factor riser. He’s a big, and strong forward who slashes for easy baskets, finishes through contact, and establishes deep post position. His growing confidence stretching the floor is huge as he’s now hitting from mid-range as well. He has a high motor, showcases physical toughness, and brings energy on both ends which makes him a major stock-up prospect right now. He has to go out with a bang!
Hopkins has made a strong case for himself this fall, emerging as one of the more intriguing prospects on the rise. His physical presence immediately stands out and he’s a big, strong bodied forward who knows how to use his frame to control space in the paint. Shows excellent hands and footwork on the block, finishing through contact and establishing deep position with ease. What’s been most impressive is his growing confidence stretching the floor; he’s knocking down shots from range and forcing defenders to respect him beyond the arc. Plays with a high motor, brings toughness on both ends and consistently injects energy into his team. Hopkins is trending up and firmly putting himself in the mix on the rankings update
Hopkins is a player who does plenty of things that don’t always show up in the box score, but he provides consistency to his team as he makes winning plays. Cameron is an interchangeable defender who can step out onto guards and defend as well as defend players much bigger than him. He’s a stout defender who does not give up on plays, is an elite rebounder, and plays with purpose. He’s a player that has not gotten the attention that he deserves, but I believe that changes this year and coming out and having a solid showcase can be instrumental in setting that foundation.
Hopkins was a standout all weekend, using his size and length to his advantage on every possession. He created space with his frame, kept plays alive with his impressive wingspan, and made a consistent impact on both ends of the floor. Offensively, he thrived coming off set screens, quickly attacking the rim with purpose and power. Once downhill, he was nearly impossible to stop—scoring at will inside the paint. His footwork and technique allowed him to finish through contact and keep defenders off balance, making him a constant problem for opposing defenses
Hopkins has been a valuable interior presence for Cherokee Trail, bringing strength to defend physical frontcourt opponents when needed. His high motor makes him a key cog in their system, gathering loose balls whenever possible. Aiding this group through timely passes out of the post, he does a great job finding the open shotmaker when needed.
