Allen was a stock booster over the Summer as he had some big games during club at Prep Hoops events both in and out of state. This is the time to ride that momentum and create more of a buzz for himself. Cherokee Trail has some solid guard play and will need more reliable depth as a spark off the bench and he could be that if we see what we saw over the Summer. A confident scorer who they put the ball in his hands and let him operate, a facilitator who gets others involved and a defender who can impact the game on that end of the floor. Who he does it against also matters as they will need to know that they can trust him and playing against the top players and showing that you can handle it goes a long way in that. This provides an opportunity to be able to stack those moments. There will be plenty of varsity level guards who will also be wanting to prove something at the event so he can go in there and show that he belongs. 

Allen has the opportunity to become a major piece for Cherokee Trail this season after the program graduated a talented senior class. The quick, deceptive guard has the skill set to step into a larger role, using his ability to facilitate the offense while also attacking the lane and blowing past defenders. He keeps the offense moving and creates quality opportunities for those around him, but his biggest impact comes on the defensive end. Allen competes with relentless energy, pressures the ball and makes life difficult for opposing guards. If he embraces the expanded responsibility, he could be one of Cherokee Trail’s most valuable players this season

Allen did a great job this week for his DBA Elite as he helped run the show as a true PG. He was explosive and had plenty of blow-by baskets where he either went up or kicked it out to get the defense moving. He reads the PnR and attacks, he can go off of it and finish, and also hit a few 3-pointers as well. Allen was consistent on the weekend. He also made his mark on the defensive end as well as he was playing the passing lanes, got a couple of steals, and finished on the other end as well. Allen is a two-way option who could earn some minutes if he keys in on that end of the floor and shows that he hangs his hat on being a lock-down defender. 

Allen did a great job this weekend for his DBA Elite 17u team as he helped run the show for what was a really successful weekend for this group. Allen is a true two way guard that plays the game the right way at both ends of the floor. He possesses the ability to make reads in ball screen situations and does a great job getting the ball to the hot hand when applicable. Allen also knows when to push the pace, when to slow it down, and when to take over scoring the ball on his own. He can attack the basket and finish in traffic along with being able to knock down outside shots. He looks like a bonafide next level guy and should start to garner more attention here soon on the recruiting trail with the live period on the horizon.

Allen earned his place in the rankings by showcasing exceptional vision, control and versatility as a playmaker. With tight handles, he navigates traffic smoothly, creating space for himself and keeping defenders off balance. His ability to read the floor and make the right play, whether it’s finding an open teammate or creating his own shot he keeps the offense flowing and dangerous. What sets Allen apart is how complete his offensive game has become. He can score at all levels, stays composed under pressure, and makes those around him better every possession. That combination of poise, creativity and scoring touch makes him a well rounded guards in this class and deserving of the ranking

Allen is integral towards Denver Academy’s success, taking on plenty of ball handling responsibilities to survey the floor for his next move. Comfortable changing the pace as needed, he works to keep his head up in spite of traps along the perimeter or farther out. An accurate passer with one hand as needed, the guard brings important tools to maintaining this group’s composure.
