Expert Analysis
Duvalier Johnson | Prep Hoops Scout
Preciado has shown a little more each time we’ve seen him and we’ve gotten multiple looks at him. There’s some craft to his scoring game already, particularly with how he changes speeds, gets to his spots and creates separation for his pull-up. We also got to see the competitive side at the showcase and that’s what I appreciate. He pressured the ball, got his hands into passing lanes and played with an edge defensively against solid players. That’s a good combination for a young guard, but this year should be about adding layers. Can he turn that scoring ability into opportunities for teammates? Can he consistently make the right read once the first option disappears? Preciado has enough tools to be on the watch list now, and how he develops as an overall guard will determine the type of player he can become but he certainly is a player who is on the watch list.

Preciado was quick and deceptive as a scorer, he did a great job getting to his spots and knocking down shots with comfort and ease. He played with good pace, never seemed rushed and consistently found ways to create clean looks for himself. His ability to change speeds and get into his pull up game made him tough to keep in front of. Moving forward we want to see him continue adding layers to that scoring package and become even more consistent creating for himself and others

Defensively he was relentless, applying pressure, forcing turnovers and coming away with multiple steals through his active hands and anticipation. He embraced every challenge and competed with a high motor throughout the tournament. On the offensive end he showed confidence in his scoring ability, highlighted by a smooth fall away jumper that consistently created separation from defenders. Preciado’s competitive mindset and two way impact made him one of the more enjoyable players to watch, and his future looks incredibly promising
