Dayes is a really good basketball player but he’s also already signed as a professional soccer player as well. Brandon is both quick and fast and he excels at getting into the paint and either finishing or kicking out to open teammates. Look for Brandon to replace

The caveat with Brandon is that he’s already played some professional soccer in Louisville so that could end up being his path BUT Dayes is also a talented basketball player. Quick and shifty, Brandon is able to score or facilitate but has a great first step and has the ability to play lockdown defense.

Perhaps the best on ball defender in the class, Dayes is exceptionally quick and capable of keeping the ball in front of him. Offensively, he’s been contributing for a veteran Saint X team but his role as a freshman is primarily a defensive one. Keep an eye on Brandon. If he were to hit a growth spurt, he’ll have scholarship level potential.

Brandon was one of the top performers at our freshman camp and should have a good role for St. Xavier this season. Dayes is a high level athlete who is a growth spurt away from potentially being a big time basketball recruit. Also a high level soccer player, you can see how those skills translate to the court as the point guard is lightning quick with the ball in his hands and goes through defenders like traffic cones.

Dayes may be the fastest player in the class, with or without the ball in his hands. Brandon was lightning quick in transition and never seemed to get tired. He was also one of the few kids who actually put an emphasis on his on ball defense, often making opposing guards give up the ball so he’d stop hounding them. If he grows a couple more inches, he’s going to have D1 potential as a point guard.
