We don't have 2028 rankings yet and won't until the fall or winter at the earliest but there are new names popping up all the time who expect to be ranked when the time comes. We started with an initial watchlist of players after the 8th grade state championship this spring. Here are some more names making noise this spring in AAU. This not meant to be a ranking or a list of the best 2028s in Kentucky. These are players who have played their way on to the radar this AAU season.

[player_tooltip player_id='2451394' first='Chase' last='Harmon'] of Clinton County may be a top 3-5 freshman in the 4th region this upcoming season. The point guard is skilled and tough and will be expected to have a sizeable role on the team from day one.

Manual doesn't play freshmen much but [player_tooltip player_id='2451395' first='Damauri' last='Crosby'] may buck that trend thanks to his size and shot blocking. Every team needs rim protection and Crosby can provide that for the Crimson even if his offensive game is still catching up to his defense.

Adair County always has tough guards and [player_tooltip player_id='2357247' first='John' last='Shehan'] could be the next one up. Shehan may not have a huge role as a Freshman but when [player_tooltip player_id='1130308' first='Connor' last='Loy'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1292861' first='Isaiah' last='Cochran'] graduate, John could be the next man up for Coach Breeze.

Woodford County has a lot of guard depth but [player_tooltip player_id='2451397' first='Khi' last='Mahorn'] will compete for a solid role this coming season. Mahorn has literally grown up in the gym as his dad has played and coached at the highest levels and Mahorn's skill level and IQ reflects that when you see him play.

Pineville can use some more firepower behind [player_tooltip player_id='1130315' first='Sawyer' last='Thompson'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1288975' first='Ashton' last='Moser']. Freshman [player_tooltip player_id='2451396' first='Preston' last='Zachery'] can provide that. Preston works his tail off in the gym and it shows with his shooting ability. He's only been playing basketball for a couple of years so his prospect ceiling is unknown right now.

It remains to be seen where [player_tooltip player_id='2451384' first='Prestyn' last='Wheatley'] enrolls for high school but he'll be expected to have a big role wherever he plays. Prestyn averaged double figures for Seneca last season and is capable of scoring 20+ per game if he plays at a school which needs him to do that every night. If Wheatley goes somewhere like Trinity or St. X, expect him to fulfill a bench role next year.

East Jessamine will expect [player_tooltip player_id='2450182' first='Tyson' last='Duke'] to have a big role for the Jaguars this season. A likely starter as a freshman, Duke is athletic and capable of getting to the rim but needs to continue improving his jump shot. Thanks to his athleticism and feel, Tyson has a high prospect ceiling and will be a good player to monitor over the next calendar year.
