Khi missed the entire season after an ACL tear last June during summer ball. Likely to come back stronger than before, Mahorn’s best is really good and he could put himself in the mix with the rest of the top guards in the state. He’s grown up in the gym and has a basketball IQ years beyond his age. I’m excited to see how Khi looks after nearly a year away.

Mahorn tore his ACL in June and is currently out. What better time than now to buy stock? It’s rumored that Khi could make his Montgomery County debut in January or February. If that’s the case, his timeline is similar to when Cayden Reed got eligible for MoCo last season and led them on a run to Rupp. Mahorn’s ceiling is higher than Reed’s. If he comes back and is well, look for Khi to be a big boost in the winter.

Khi is likely to be one of the most impactful transfers in the state this season as he has left Woodford County and enrolled at Montgomery County this summer. Khi has grown up as a coach’s son and it shows in his basketball IQ. He has great feel for the game and can impact the game without having to be ball dominant and forcing his own offense. Expect Mahorn to be an impact player in the 10th region this year and a scholarship level signee down the line.

Mahorn is a steady lead guard with a high IQ. He didn’t have the best season scoring the ball but the skill level is evident with Khi’s game and he is an above average finisher at his age and size. Woodford County has a young backcourt coming back next season but do not be surprised if Mahorn makes a big leap in his second year.

Mahorn has literally grown up in a gym and it shows in how he carries himself. Khi’s basketball IQ is ahead of his time and he’s excellent at directing a team even at this young age. A good shooter, expect Khi to be one of the top guards in the 8th region by this time next year. Especially if he gets anywhere near his dad’s size (6’6).

Khi is going to have to wait his turn at Woodford but in the little bit I saw of him this summer, Mahorn shot the cover off the ball. If he gets anywhere near his dad’s size, he’ll be a problem.
