One of the breakout performers of the camp, Shehan was going off in 5 on 5 action. The lefty wing guard has a smooth jumper off the catch or pulling up and has the confidence to just rise up over smaller defenders. One of the more talented isolation creators all day, Shehan can ask for a clear out and create something. In an organized setting, Shehan’s spot-up shooting and ability to finish through contact are some of the more valuable skills he brings to the table.

Woah, can Shehan fill it up. This lefty can light up the scoreboard from anywhere on the court. Even though he’s 6’4, he does most of his damage from the perimeter and is an exceptional 3-point shooter. His size helps him on the glass as he competes well on the boards. What I appreciate the most about John’s game is that it doesn’t feel like he’s forcing anything. He will make a 1-more pass to a teammate that has a better look and doesn’t need to shoot a bunch, to make an impact on the scoresheet.

Adair County has a rebuild in the near future after graduating the bulk of the back to back region champions. Shehan should move into a big role this summer and his play on the NXT circuit looks like he may be ready for the opportunity. John can shoot it but he’s becoming a more well rounded player and had some big scoring games this weekend.

One thing I learned about Shehan on Saturday was that if he was open, he was letting it fly. As the day wore on, John started hitting more shots and ended up with some impressive performances in the 5 on 5 portion. He could be a good player long term for an Adair team that will graduate a ton after this season.
