Thompson has transformed his game from being a volume scorer at the point to being a playmaker and facilitator. Averaging 22.5 points on 50/40/76 splits this season, Sawyer is one of the best available players left in this Senior class.

Pineville ran Bishop Brossart out the gym and it was Thompson who had his fingerprints all over the victory. Starting the game with multiple steals using his quick hands, Thompson tied a game-high with three. His passing ability also stands out with the ability to hit no-look passes to teammates that have the defense clueless on where the ball is going to go. No surprise that Thompson ended the game with a triple-double when you watched it as his impact was obvious in scoring, rebounding and passing. 19 points on just 12 shots from the floor, Thompson took smart shots and had soft touch on mid-range and floater shots. One of the best point guards in Kentucky’s 2025 class, I think Pineville has a chance to make a deep playoff run in March as well.

Thompson has quietly changed his game from a scoring combo guard to a facilitating point guard over the past few months. A scrappy guard who plays with a super motor, Sawyer is great at getting into the paint and making good reads instead of forcing his offense. Some school will get a steal with Thompson on signing day.

Thompson is one of the best pure scorers in the 25 class and does a little bit of everything for Pineville on a nightly basis. Sawyer has D1 upside if he can fine tune his shot selection and prove he can guard highly athletic guards.

One of the best scorers in the 25 class, Sawyer is likely to end up a 3,000 point scorer before his career ends. Thompson is relied on to do a lot for Pineville and has to be among the most valuable players to his team in the entire state.
