It’s only a starting point for rankings and the list will grow and change with each coming update but we have enough information to start our 2027 rankings. Here’s a look at the top power forward and center prospects in the class. This does not include players who are ranked in the top ten in the class.
Henning looks like a pure post player upon first viewing. He’s a good two handed rebounder and an above average shot blocker who showed some offensive post skills on offense and a willingness to shoot from the perimeter. His jump shot form needs some work but it’s not terrible. I’d be surprised to see Landon grow much more but at 6’7, he’s already got good size and high potential.
Highlights
Woods showed some polish on his low post game and even made a couple of nice dribble moves with the ball in his hands. Brock will need to improve his conditioning and avoid long periods where he takes plays off. He also may not be done growing. Definitely a nice prospect to keep an eye on, moving forward.
Rickard has perhaps the most long term potential of anyone in this list as he’s super long and appears to still be growing. Wyatt is an excellent shot blocker but needs to continue developing his offensive game. He tends to float around the three point line too much but he’s not a bad shooter. If he develops, he’ll be a top player in the 27 class.
Highlights
Wright is a physical forward who continues to get more comfortable with the ball in his hands. He could eventually transition to out on the wing, full time. Ferlandas is part of the youngest program in Kentucky so he’s able to play through his mistakes and learn on the fly.
Highlights
A relative unknown due to geography, Armstrong plays in the first region and is one of the top 2027s in far west Ky. Luke has a nice offensive game already and will have be an impact player if he continues to grow and expand his skill set. If he grows another couple of inches, Luke will be a matchup issue for most players in 2027.
