I was really impressed with both Woods and fellow 2027 prospect Anderson Lauffer Anderson Lauffer 6'0" | CG Paintsville | 2027 State KY on Paintsville. Woods is a stretch big who can get hot from downtown in a hurry. With a bigger frame, Woods can use his size to get position on the interior against skinnier post players and find teammates when double teams come. Besides his perimeter shooting ability, Woods best skill might be his vision. I liked the way he scanned the court and didn’t force the issue Vs traps. One of the better bigs in Kentucky’s 2027 class, expect Woods recruitment to really pick up in the summer.

Woods is a bruiser down low who is a good scorer when he can get in the paint and score over either shoulder with baby hooks. Brock is a very good shooter from beyond the three point line, also. His college ceiling will be determined by how well he can defend his position.

Woods has the ability to be a double-double threat every night out and is the biggest body of the 4 listed here. More of a banger and less finesse, Woods is a good three point shooter as well. He made 37% of his three point attempts this season and made 55% of his attempts overall.

Woods is more of a traditional back to the basket scorer who excels at rim running and scoring around the bucket. Averaging 12 points and 8 boards per game in his freshman season, Brock will have a chance to impress this spring and summer on the 3SSB circuit.

Woods showed some polish on his low post game and even made a couple of nice dribble moves with the ball in his hands. Brock will need to improve his conditioning and avoid long periods where he takes plays off. He also may not be done growing. Definitely a nice prospect to keep an eye on, moving forward.

Another new name coming out of Saturday, Woods is a big body who showed the ability to score with his back to the bucket and also flashed some ability to play with the ball in his hands and get to the rim. I’m not sure I saw a single jumpshot from Brock all day so that will be the next aspect to add to his offensive repertoire.
