Armstrong is a big presence on the low block who can also step out and knock down threes from time to time. Luke transitioned into being the main man for a rebuilding Calloway County team last season. Now a Senior, I think Armstrong and Calloway could surprise a lot of people in the first region next season.

I was really impressed with Armstrong as he shot the cover off the basketball from long distance. A repeatable shot form even from 25+ feet, Armstrong has ‘in the gym’ type range. A skilled forward who can bring the ball up the court, pass to beat the full court press and direct traffic in the half-court, Armstrong does it all offensively for his team. If Armstrong can transform his body then he could really start to get some serious college interest.

Armstrong is going to be relied on for A LOT this year at Calloway County as they are in the midst of a rebuild after having one of the best seasons in school history last year. Luke can score inside or out but has never excelled at creating his own shot and that’s going to be the biggest thing he will need to do as he moves into his Junior season.

Luke is a stretch big who launched 116 threes this season while only putting up 86 twos for the year. Calloway is going to take a massive hit thanks to graduation but Armstrong will be their best bet to have similar success in the first region next season. Long term, Luke has a ton of upside and a whole lot more responsibility for the Lakers.

Calloway County has their sights set on Rupp Arena but they will need more than just Jonah Butler Jonah Butler 6'5" | SG Calloway County | 2025 State KY and Eli Finley Eli Finley 6'2" | PG Calloway County | 2025 State KY to help get them there next month. In some of Calloway’s biggest wins this season Luke has been a big part. For them to get a regional championship, Armstrong will need to string together the best stretch of games he’s had to this point.

The 4th district is the best in the region by far and features 3 of the top 5-6 teams. In 3 games against Marshall County last season Armstrong only had 10 points combined. In 2 games against Murray he had 13 points before Eli Finley Eli Finley 6'2" | PG Calloway County | 2025 State KY came back from injury and 5 points in the second meeting. For Calloway to win the region (I picked them to) Luke will need to step up when it matters most. He can be the difference in finishing the season at Rupp Arena or in the opening round of the district.

Calloway County went blow for blow with Louisville St Xavier for about three quarters before running out of gas in the final frame. They had a few standout performers but I wanted to highlight Armstrong due to his overall solid play. With an excellent body for a 2027 prospect, Armstrong has good length, size and strength. Showing the ability to play on the perimeter and space the floor, Armstrong knocked down a couple 3-pointers off drive and kicks. The next step in Armstrong’s game will be getting more comfortable putting the ball on the deck and beating closeouts to either score or set up his teammates. Liked the physical frame and shooting on this young forward prospect.
