The best player that no one talks about. Butler is signed with D1 Stony Brook and hoping to get Calloway County out of the first region after a disappointing finish last season.

Butler had a big summer in both high school and AAU basketball. He’s the best college prospect in the first region’s 2025 class and in the mix for player of the year in the region. Jonah does a lot for his team and is a stat sheet stuffer for the Lakers.

We wrote about Butler after the Bill Hensley Run N Slam and once again I walked away from watching him play very impressed. A wing forward who knocks down shots, plays under control, is physical and efficient, Butler checks a lot of boxes for college coaches. With his size and strength, Butler is a player you need to box out or he will punish you with second chance points. I knew Butler would be productive this weekend but he shot the ball better from 3-point range than I saw a few weekends ago in Fort Wayne. Butler should be getting a lot of scholarship interest from Low major and Division II programs.

Butler is a player who checks a whole lot of boxes for his team and may impact winning in several different ways on any given night. Jonah leads Calloway in rebounds, blocks and assists and is third on the team in scoring. Holding an offer from Lipscomb, Butler is one of the best players in Kentucky that no one talks about.
