Langhi is what I consider a “high floor, high ceiling” player. With his ability to score or create for others, Matthew has the potential to drive opposing defenses crazy. Langhi keeps growing and may no be done yet. Certainly a player who looks better in structure, Langhi can switch across multiple positions defensively and has a very high basketball IQ.
Langhi has offers from multiple D1 schools, including Southern Indiana and Bellarmine. Both schools offered since the KABC event earlier this month.
Prediction: Bellarmine. Matthew likely has more offers coming but I can see him going to Bellarmine and thriving for a year or two before portaling up a level.

For much of the first half, despite consistently trailing on the scoreboard, it seemed like the Kentucky Junior All-Stars couldn’t miss a shot. The primary shot-maker was Langhi who scored 14 of his 17 points in the first half. Kentucky’s #1 ranked prospect in the Class of 2027 showed off his interior offensive repertoire. There is so much to like about the skilled, athletic, 6’7″ wing.
Our top ranked rising Senior, Langhi is running with Indiana Elite this year. A versatile scorer, Matthew has a really high IQ and is the type of wing who can make players around him better. Matthew does everything well and should have a chance to showcase his overall skill set with the loaded IE team he’s playing with this weekend.

This Indiana Elite 33SB 17u team is loaded up with long, athletic, and talented wings. Langhi was a standout among them this weekend at The Stage while leading his team to a perfect 4-0 record. The 6’7″ Marshall County (KY) High School wing displayed his multi-level scoring chops, flashed his athleticism, and showed off his versatile defensive abilities as well. It is easy to see why he is considered the top Class of 2027 prospect in the state of Kentucky.
Matthew is our newly top ranked 2027 and is also suiting up with Indiana Elite this AAU season. A big guard with a really good skill set, Langhi has big time potential and should be a P4 recruit in the not too distant future.
Langhi moves up from 4th in the rankings to top of the class on the back of a big time Junior season. Matthew averaged 27 points and 5 rebounds per game while playing with the ball in his hands quite a bit. He also lived at the free throw line this season, averaging 8 makes per game and shooting 86% from the line. Matthew managed to score more points at the free throw line than most kids in Kentucky average in an entire season.
Langhi earned his first D1 offer about 6 weeks ago and looks like his recruiting could absolutely take off in the next 3 months. Matthew has already taken an unofficial visit to Illinois and it sounds like the interest is very real. We could see Matthew work his way into the national rankings this summer.
The player I was most excited about to watch this weekend, I didn’t get the chance to see Langhi the one time I saw Marshall County in the regular season. He certainly didn’t disappoint as he scored 36 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to Will Marshall County to a win. Langhi looks slimmer and quicker end to end than I remembered from the summer. Langhi did an excellent job getting to his spots off the dribble in the mid-range area or all the way at the rim, only taking three 3-pointers all game. Langhi missed a couple layups with his left hand early in the game but had a huge and-1 finish with his left hand in the fourth quarter. Helping close the game at the charity stripe, Langhi was 11 for 13 on free throws. Out of any performer in the opening round, Langhi might’ve been the most impressive.
Langhi continues to be the best player in Kentucky that most people haven’t heard of. Matthew has legitimate size and is super skilled. Schools as big as Illinois have been recruiting him but most basketball fans in Kentucky don’t know his name yet. Langhi is averaging 30 points per game through 11 games this year and is living at the free throw line. He averages a remarkable 8 free throw makes per game while shooting 88% from the line.
