was a big reason why. Along with Kwa Silikpoh and a couple of others, Waleed and co. were applying constant pressure to the Farmington guards. For the first few minutes of the game they could barely get past half-court without that pressure causing a turnover. Waleed is so quick moving his feet on the ball, and has a motor that never seems to give up on the defensive end of the floor. Offensively he added in a few mid-range makes to go along with a transition dunk in the win.

Pound for pound, Waleed is one of the best scorers in the senior class and he is playing with Kwat who…. pound for pound is one of the best scorers in the state. Waleed is such an experienced scorer that he handles so many scenarios in the right way. The ball fake into the one dribble pull-up, the shoulder lean on the attack drawing the foul, the quick push the other way against a slow defense, putbacks and the feet set-hands up ready to catch when attacking teammates are on the move. Close to being called…. a high level pure scorer.

Waleed Muhammad is a six-foot-two-inch 2027 Hopkins (Richfield transfer) guard that finished out the AAU season with Real Phenom. Muhammad’s ball handling and quickness enable him to get to the mid-range space for pull-ups and good spot-up shooting skill. Muhammad’s quick handle and laterally speed going downhill makes him a threat a driving scorer from the perimeter.

Waleed has talent as a scorer and we saw him adapt and play the point guard spot well for Richfield leading them to the Final Four of Class AAA. He had Select off to a great April start and had a ton of people talking.
All the moving around playing for four different high schools (now with Hopkins) and switching AAU teams, it’s led to some schools looking to other lead guards. But a good year at Hopkins and an early chance to play in college could lead to Waleed being the scholarship talent many think he can be.

Waleed Muhammed is a six-foot-two-inch 2027 Hopkins guard that is an attacker in transition whenever possible. Muhammad is a solid finisher at the rim that he showed a little bit more ability to finish above the rim this summer. Muhammed can shoot the ball from the perimeter that he tries to balance with his driving from the perimeter. Muhammad operates as a secondary ball handler and secondary creator.
