Over the course of the season, Cook proved he could dominate inside, bringing energy, consistency and an edge that helped him stand out and make a lasting impression

Classical Academy is a dark horse team to keep an eye on, who I feel has a chance to make some noise this season. Their best player has been Trace Cook Trace Cook 6'4" | CG The Classical Academy | 2027 State CO , who has made a jump to start the season. He’s up to 13.3 points and 7.3 boards a game. He pushes the pace, is lethal with the ball in his hands, and takes what the defense is giving him. He is also aggressive and overpowers defenders at the rim for easy finishes. He’s also proven to be a facilitator who keeps the ball popping, and that has made it difficult to stop this team, as he has weapons around him. He could make more of a rise with a solid finish to the year and showcasing himself this Summer/Fall in front of our scouts. We’re high on Trace and feel he has what it takes to make an ever better jump soon. 

Cook see’s his name on this list due to the impact he made as a sophomore for The Classical Academy and the clear upward trajectory of his game. He averaged 5.8 points and 2.7 rebounds, but his value goes far beyond the numbers. Cook’s quickness and elusiveness make him a constant matchup problem, allowing him to create space, beat defenders off the dribble and finish in traffic. He’s dangerous in transition, pushes pace naturally and thrives when the game speeds up. What separates him is his poise and under pressure he elevates, makes smart reads and consistently delivers winning plays

When given space, he’s a deadly threat from deep, keeping defenders honest and stretching the floor. In transition Cook’s speed and instincts allow him to get out ahead of defenders and finish strong at the rim. That combination of scoring ability, quickness, and situational awareness makes him a complete offensive weapon and a standout player, earning him a place among the ranked players in his class

As a two-year varsity player, Trace Cook Trace Cook 6'4" | CG The Classical Academy | 2027 State CO showed flashes of breakout potential for one of the conference’s top teams. Cook is a versatile scorer, can hit threes, finish in transition, and spark runs with his energy. Cook gives you a little of everything, and his ability to push the break and score with either hand stands out. He’s moved from the watch list into the Top 100 for good reason.

Cook deserves praise for his efficiency inside the arc, bringing soft touch and smooth footwork to score through opposing contests. An assertive downhill scorer, the guard is at his best operating off of rips, comfortable taking it all the way to the rack or putting up a floater in the face of contests. He keeps his head up while on the attack, capable of finding the cutter or open kickout as needed.
