He was active on the boards securing possessions on both ends and turning them into scoring opportunities for himself and his teammates. Patterson also displayed a smooth midrange touch, knocking down shots with consistency and composure under pressure. In transition he thrives with fast, uptempo movement, pushing the pace and creating opportunities both for himself and others. Defensively Patterson uses his size to contest shots, disrupt passing lanes and provide a physical presence in the paint. Last year, he averaged around 4 points and 4 rebounds per game, showing flashes of becoming a dependable wing presence. What makes Patterson valuable is his versatility on offense.
