The event featured some highly-rated prospects from the West, South, Midwest and East regions of the United States. In this piece we highlight our Top Ten performers split into first and second team honors.
Second Team
G Tru Washington Tru Washington 6'3" | CG AZ Compass Prep | 2023 State #61 Nation AZ , AZ Compass Prep
Washington was among the top scorers in this event and you can read more about his ability to put the ball through the net in our piece on the best scorers of the Pangos All-American Festival. The smooth and crafty left-hander averaged 29 points per game on the weekend and connected on eight three-pointers.
G Dylan Harper Dylan Harper 6'6" | SG Don Bosco Prep | 2024 State #3 Nation NJ , Don Bosco Prep (NJ)
Harper is the one player we differed from the showcase’s all-tournament selections. The class of 2024 scoring guard was solid the first day, scoring 14 points in a loss to the eventual-champion Midwest team, but came back Sunday on a tear, scoring 26 points with five rebounds and five assists.
WF Marquis Cook Marquis Cook 6'6" | SF AZ Compass Prep | 2023 State #6 Nation AZ , AZ Compass Prep
The way Cook moves and seamlessly glides on the court is the stuff next-level players are made of. At 6-feet-6 with a strong frame and explosive athleticism, Cook was a disruptive perimeter defender and very good defensive rebounder. Offensively, the Oregon-commit had a little bit of everything in his arsenal from playmaking for teammates, to perimeter jumpers, drives and finishes through contact and highlight-reel dunks.
F Sam Walters Sam Walters 6'9" | PF The Villages | 2023 State #96 Nation FL , Village Schools (FL)
Walters was quietly effective with his ability to stretch the floor from three-point range off the catch and make high IQ plays that might not show up in a box score, but definitely made the South a tough team to beat. The 6-foot-8 stretch-four type forward averaged 16 points per game on the weekend.
C Jayden Hastings Jayden Hastings 6'9" | PF Orlando Christian Prep | 2023 State #120 Nation FL , IMG Academy (FL)
Aside from Bidunga, who we had on our first-team, Hastings was the second-best interior defender in this event. The 6-foot-9 center has all the makings of a good college rim protector with his instincts, timing and willingness to block or alter every shot around the basket. I had Hastings down for seven blocked shots in Saturday’s win over the West and five more blocks in the championship loss to the Midwest.
