He just committed to Montana. The 6’5 versatile playmaker had things going his way in the first game scoring 28pts in a variety of ways. He had strong drives with body control to finish around the rim in different ways. He’s an excellent ball handler and passer with vision to see the whole court. He can knock downs 3’s. He’s a two-way player that can defend multiple positions, he rebounds, and will get a few chase down blocks.

Tyler operates with great strength, control, and athleticism all over the court. Thompson arguably had his best performance of the weekend against Grant with 25 points, 9 rebounds, and 8 assists but also led Vanden to wins over Valencia and De La Salle to finish the weekend 3-1. He competes hard at both ends and uses his elongated wingspan (reportedly around 6″10) to be a nuisance as an on-ball defender and be able to guard multiple positions. Tyler is also a very confident three point shooter who isn’t afraid to let it fly off the dribble or off the catch.
