He just committed to Montana. The 6’5 versatile playmaker had things going his way in the first game scoring 28pts in a variety of ways. He had strong drives with body control to finish around the rim in different ways. He’s an excellent ball handler and passer with vision to see the whole court. He can knock downs 3’s. He’s a two-way player that can defend multiple positions, he rebounds, and will get a few chase down blocks.
He’s been sidelined for five weeks with a concussion, that didn’t stop one of NorCal’s top 3pt shooters from taking matters into his own hands down the stretch of the title game. He made 16-3pointers in three games, 8 in the title game as he and his teammates wouldn’t go down easy. A couple of those 3’s were from NBA range. He’s a transfer from El Camino to Weston Ranch.
Gibson led his team in scoring with 24pts in his first game. He’s stronger, playing with good balance, and letting the game come to him. He’s getting more opportunities to use his dribble and strong body to take it inside and score. He had good movements without the ball slashing/cutting and finishing around the rim. He’s making free throws, getting his rebounds, and defending hard.
Banks is one of the better defenders in NorCal. Some players have a knack for doing certain things. Banks alertness on the defensive side of the ball playing center field uses his quick hands and feet in pressure situations to get steals that leads to buckets or offensive possessions. He’s lurking and anticipating the pass. He’s good at filling lanes for transition buckets, he’ll knock down an open 3, he’s a willing passer up the court. He doesn’t have to score to effect the game.
He shows good determination, along with a good overall ability to put points on the board. He’s a good ball handler, he has good shot selection. He’s aggressive on the drive to the basket, using spin moves and other ways to finish, unafraid of contact. He has good range to knock down 3’s, he hit three in game one, two in the corners and one from the top off the dribble. He has lengthy arms and good movements to lock in on defense.
Highlights
He’s a quick speedy point guard who’s working under the radar. He’s a quality ball handler with vision, a willing facilitator, he can play off ball. He shows patience at the top in half-court sets. He uses his quick handles, and speed to turn corners on defenders to get into the paint for buckets, draw defenders, dish or kick it out to open shooters. He got a nice paint jumper, he makes the long pass up court. He has the speed and lateral movement to hound the ball up court.
The athletic Hearne is a reliable bucket getter for his team, playing without one of its starters, Hearne scored 16 of the 34 points for his team. He has good lift on everything he does on the court, and he’s fast. He gets up high for rebounds, brings it up court himself. He’ll use his dribble to attack the paint and defenders, his lift on the paint jumper is hard to block. He’s aggressive and strong going up high when goes into the paint looking to throw one down or finish at the rim. He can hit 3’s.

Washington the long arm 6’6 transfer from Valley Christian in San Jose, is starting to establish himself as a reliable player who’ll contribute to this team working in and around the post area. He works from the mid-post, using a dribble and a jump hook, hitting short corner jumpers. He uses his dribble to attack from the baseline or drive it into the paint to finish at the rim, he has good touch around the rim. His lengthy arms helps defend in the post. He’ll get rebounds, and run the court.
In the past few seasons, Haupt has been a reliable pass first point guard with a good shot, he knows how to run a team. He’s in sort of a different role this season as he aggressively looks to put points on the board working off ball. He’s a good shooter spotting up, or off ball using his dribble from mid-range or behind the 3pt line. He’ll make shots if he keeps shooting. He keeps big off balance on his drives to the basket putting it high off the glass making it hard to block.
