A strong body with good handles to attack the rim regularly handling body contact, he makes his free throws. He’s a shot maker off the dribble for mid-range jumpers or knocking down 3’s. He might be underrated as a defender, he can lock in and make it tough for whoever he’s defending, he had a couple of chase down blocks. He’s a playmaker that can get things done up top or off ball. He has good hops for dunks and to get rebounds.
Highlights
He’s off to a good Spring showing us confidence and a growing skill set playing 15u. He’s getting a lot done at this level. He’s handling the ball up top with good passing, good decisions. He’s handling ball pressure, seeing the court, making good passes up court in transition. He had multiple scoring drives into the paint through traffic and against shot blockers. He knocked down key buckets throughout the game mid-range jumpers, 3ptrs, and when the game was on the line late.
Highlights
He’s holding up pretty well playing 17u. He was aggressive using ball fakes, and a good first step to attack defenders along the perimeter, getting into the paint absorbing contact and putting the ball high off the glass, or pulling for off the dribble mid-range jumpers. He’s shown himself to be a quality point guard who can run the point, involve mates with a willingness to pass first, but also go into scoring mode at any time.
At 6’6 and growing, he’s making good progress. He’s going to get his points in the paint at this level using his length, body, and taking it up strong. He hit the short corner jumper. He sets solid screens for his guards, he executed the pick and roll to finish at the rim, making himself a target in the post. He’ll go after blocks, change shots with a quick jump, get rebounds for put backs, and good out lets passing to start the break. He’s a good paint defender at this level. A good upside.
Highlights
A well built guard combo guard at this level. He played with confidence and determination. He defended well throughout the games we saw. He’s a good ball handling guard who’ll penetrate and pass. He attacks the rim along the baseline, and perimeter finishing with floaters, and paint jumpers, he goes hard in transition finishing through contact, and close to the rim. He hit corner catch 3’s down the stretch, and another in transition.
