West Mania brought together some of the top shoe circuit and independent programs from the Western U.S. for a three-day event, complete with Circuit crossover games in the showcase break off at Cerritos College. In this piece we take a look at the top big men we saw at the event.
Brandon Benjamin Brandon Benjamin 6'4" | PF Anaheim Canyon | 2025 State CA-S | 2025 | Jalen Green Elite
At first glance Benjamin doesn’t look like the traditional big man we’re used to seeing but as soon as the ball goes up, and he gets his first touch with his back to the basket, it’s clear that his skill-set is of the traditional big man mold. The 6-foot-5 forward has elite feel, touch and footwork on the low block and uses those to his advantage to get defenders out of position so he can finish a high percentage look. Benjamin is also a great interior passer out of the low and high post areas of the floor.
Christopher Cenac | 2025 | YGC
Cenac is a skilled and versatile 6-foot-10 forward/center whose soft hands and fundamental post skill-set allow him to score over either shoulder down low. Cenac also showed the ability to step out to the perimeter and impact the game in a variety of ways, including dribble hand-off action, right drives and finishes over smaller defenders and a workable face-up shot. Cenac’s impact on the defensive end is that of a rim protector who can block and change shots and execute various coverages in ball screens.
Jaion Pitt | 2025 | AZ Unity
Pitt stood out because of his high motor, physicality and willingness to do the dirty work for his team. The 6-foot-6 junior gives off some throwback power forward vibes with his toughness inside as a finisher through contact and offensive rebounder. Pitt works hard for second chance opportunities and uses his length and 220-plus pound frame to elevate and score at the rim.
Nigel Walls | 2025 | JL3
Walls is trending as your prototypical stretch four or stretch five in the modern game. At a rangy and wiry 6-feet-10, the Texas-based prospect is a fluid mover with good feet and coordination in pick and pop action where he excels. Walls is a consistent three-point shooter off the catch with some ball skills in dribble hand-off or “get” action.
Seal Diouf | 2025 | Vegas Elite
The 6-foot-8 center plays a power style of basketball in which his rebounding efforts on both ends of the floor and interior finishing through contact make him a strong interior presence on both sides of the floor. Diouf pursued offensive boards with purpose and benefitted multiple times from his willingness to run the floor where guards found him and his soft hands for a high percentage bucket.
Xavion Staton | 2025 | BTI Pro 16
Staton was one of the best rim protectors we saw on the weekend. At 7-feet tall with impressive length and quick first and second jumps, Staton has the physical tools of an elite defensive big man but also has the instincts and timing that go along with being one at the highest levels. Offensively, Staton is still very raw and doesn’t have a go-to skill on that end but he is a mobile screener and roller who can catch and finish lobs.
