First Five
G Jeremy Fears Jeremy Fears 6'1" | PG Joliet West | 2023 State #31 Nation IL , Joliet West (IL)
Fears leads the trend of the four Midwest players on the First Team as his game management and high IQ point guard play led the charge for a dominant Midwest run to a championship. The Michigan State-commit didn’t have astoundingly high numbers, but his 12 points per game and 9.5 assists per game all while controlling the tempo of games was a huge advantage for the Midwest.
G Mercy Miller Mercy Miller 6'4" | SG Notre Dame | 2024 State #45 Nation CA-S , Sherman Oaks Notre Dame
We already knew Miller was a gifted scoring guard but he established himself as potentially one of the best in the country after averaging 31.5 points per game in leading the South to a championship game appearance. Miller hit an event-high 11 three-pointer over the course of his two games.
WF Garwey Dual Garwey Dual 6'5" | PG Carmel | 2023 #113 Nation CA-S , Southern California Academy
The overall camp MVP’s selected by the event operator and select media members went to Fears and Flory Bidunga Flory Bidunga 6'9" | C Kokomo | 2024 State #7 Nation IN , but Dual’s two-way efforts had him right in that conversation. The 6-foot-4 wing was a menace of an on-ball defender and dropped 26 and 33 points in helping the Midwest to a title.
F Andrew Fielder Andrew Fielder 6'9" | PF Southern California Academy | 2023 #74 Nation CA-S , Southern California Academy
Fielder’s motor and all-around impact inside was rivaled only by Bidunga, a fellow first-team selection. By our count, the 6-foot-9 four man averaged 25 points and eight rebounds per game on the weekend, including a 24-point, 12-rebound effort in the championship game. Fielder had his versatile offensive game going all weekend long.
C Flory Bidunga Flory Bidunga 6'9" | C Kokomo | 2024 State #7 Nation IN , Kokomo (IN)
Bidunga’s combination of size, athleticism and motor were too much for other teams to handle. The 6-foot-9 lefty was the best defender on the floor by a long-shot with his ability to block and alter shots around the basket, switch and contain guards on the perimeter and he even blocked a handful of perimeter jumpers. Bidunga was named a co-MVP of the event alongside his Midwest teammate, Jeremy Fears Jeremy Fears 6'1" | PG Joliet West | 2023 State #31 Nation IL .
