Sanders is a prospect who initially got on my radar for playing up on the 16 U 3SSB circuit. Sanders wasn’t dominating, but he held his own against older competition all spring and summer. I then saw Sanders with Fairfield in June and got to see more of what he’s capable of. Sanders is a strong guard who can shoot it off the catch and provides value both on and off the ball. The chemistry he’s built with Deshawne Crim Deshawne Crim 6’2″ | PG Fairfield | 2023 State OH is impressive to watch as the pair will hope to help defend their GMC crown. For a prospect his age, I’ve been most impressed by the toughness and feel for the game that Sanders has displayed.

Finefrock is one of the elite shooters in Ohio’s 2025 class and could be a guy who makes a big impact in the Federal league this winter. Finefrock has range and if he’s given space it’s going up and probably going on. I’d like to see Finefrock continue to build muscle and quickness through the weight room because he’s pretty limited off the bounce and athletically. With his basketball IQ he was able to get open against grassroots programs without much scouting, but that will be tougher in one of the best scouted high school leagues in Ohio. Massillon Jackson lost some key pieces from last year’s squad but with Finefrock and Kyle Monterrubio Kyle Monterrubio 6’3″ | SF Massillon Jackson | 2025 State OH ready to start on varsity as Sophomores, the Polar Bears once again have expectations to compete for a conference and district title.

Calloway is one of two prospects featured in this article who played for the UA Rise 15 U champions, Nova Village. This team collectively was very impressive defensively and used their balance scoring to win the championship. Calloway impressed me with his scoring punch and athleticism from the point guard position. Calloway already got lots of varsity experience as a freshman and under new coach Andreas James, Bishop Hartley is projected to take a step forward in 2022-23. I’ve only gotten to see Calloway play a couple times so I’m excited to continue to track his development over the next couple years.

Perkins is the second Nova Village 15 U prospect featured as the 5’10 guard is QUICK. Perkins can blaze from one end of the court to the other in an instant and finish around the basket. Perkins and Micah Young Micah Young 6’1″ | CG Westerville North | 2025 State OH build good chemistry together as freshman with Westerville North and during the spring with Nova Village, the pair will both be expected to take leaps as Sophomores. If Perkins can become more reliable as a 3-point shooter, he will be even tougher to keep out of the paint with his shifty handle and impressive change of pace.
A two sport athlete, Woidke also excels on the gridiron for the Wildcats. Woidke impressed both with the Ohio Buckets and Saint Ignatius this summer, showing off his athleticism and burst from the guard position. Woidke was more of a scorer for the Buckets where he tried to get to the basket and threw down some impressive dunks. I’m excited to see what Woidke does for Saint Ignatius this winter, as he’ll be a key guard coming off the bench for a program looking to take the next step after back to back regional championships.
