Calloway’s playmaking ability for the Hawks was outstanding tonight. He was able to make everyone on his team get going with his ability to share the ball. He broke down and got by his defender easily and then made the right read to score it or dish it. He plays with such calmness and confidence. He shot the ball well. Truly did whatever he wanted to do. He was great on the defensive end as well. He showed a lot of effort and attention on that end.

I’ve been really impressed with the playmaking ability Calloway has shown me this season. Another lead guard as a powerhouse Division III school, Bishop Hartley is another team looking to get past the regional round of the state tournament this season. Another guard who can have immediate two-way production at the college level, I think Calloway found an excellent fit for his skillset at Gannon.

Calloway really put together one heck of a game against Watterson. He was getting buckets in a very efficient way. He took over the primary ball handler role for this team and it showed to be where he is best. He was shooting the ball off the dribble well. Impressive pull-ups from beyond the arc and in the midrange. He was aggressive in the moments Watterson had the momentum and he got good shots for himself and others. He turned passive when the defense tried to stop him. He showed off an elite point guard skill set.

Another central Ohio guard already off the board to a regional Division II program, Calloway is off to Gannon. I think this is a nice fit for Calloway who is one of the best defensive guards in the state. His ability to pressure the ball fits in really well with Bishop Hartley and will translate at Gannon. Gannon is 8-2 and has scored over 87 points in every game this season so you know they want to turn you over and push the pace, two areas where Calloway can excel. Bishop Hartley has also gotten off to a fast early season start, they ran Pickerington Central out the gym to open the season.

Calloway is an elite scorer. One of the things that makes a scorer elite is the ability to do it consistently. Calloway is a player that is a consistent scorer. He can do it on all levels with his slashing ability being the best. He is a good athlete who has a knack for getting out and transitioning and weaving through the defense to get buckets.

The Calloway brothers are going to be the main focus of this Bishop Hartley squad and this shows me that Jaden has full confidence and range to put the ball in the basket. He scored in bunches tonight. He saw one three go down and he then continued to go on an individual run. He had some great difficult finishes around the rim with defense all over him. Did a great job of attacking scoring angles and finishing with both hands.

Nova Village played a grind it out game on Friday evening and that played right into the style that Calloway wants to play with. A hard nosed defender who causes havoc on the defensive end of the court, Calloway was forcing turnovers and allowing his team to get out in transition. Fast break chances are also Calloway’s best chances to score the basketball, as he usually finishes when his team has a numbers advantage. I was also impressed with Calloway’s ability to finish with his left hand at the rim. Nova Village has a nice 2025 group that has a handful of pieces remaining from their 15 U UA-Rise championship team, including Calloway.

. This kid is as quick and shifty as they come. He is extremely difficult to guard 1 on 1. He is really good at attacking the defender’s top foot and making them flip their hips. Next thing you know they are off balance and Calloway is blowing by them for a bucket. Even though Calloway can score with ease he doesn’t. He is a very mature guard who showed this by controlling the game for the majority of it. When Hartley has control of the game it is because Calloway was controlling it. He controlled the pace and the offense Hartley wanted to run. He has a great feel for the game. Bishop Hartley has a real chance of making a run this postseason and the guard play will be a big reason why.
