Expert Analysis

A former Cincinnati area prospect, Sanders and his family made the move to Georgia and while he’s fit in nicely with his new high school program, Sanders has remained with Phenom United for his final grassroots summer. That chemistry seems to be paying off as Sanders does a nice job of setting the table as the starting point guard for his group. Scoring the first five points for his team and adding another couple 3-pointers throughout the game, Sanders not only scored the ball but also played tough defense and had a handful of nice passes to set his teammates up. It’ll be interesting to see how Sanders recruitment shakes out with his move out the Midwest, he was already being recruited by a couple schools in the south while he was in Cincinnati.

Kameron didn’t have a huge game offensively, but his impact was felt in other ways. Sanders impressed me with his on-ball defense. He had numerous poke aways that forced turnovers – a stat that doesn’t show up in the box score. On offense, Sanders looked to create off the dribble for others. In total, Kam posted 4 points, 3 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals and 1 block.

Sanders had an impressive winter for Fairfield and has steadily been in our top 30, he jumps up a few spots after an impressive week in Rock Hill for Phenom United where he had maybe the highlight of the weekend with a half-court buzzer-beater to steal a win for his team. More than a one-shot wonder, Sanders holds offers to Youngstown State, North Carolina A%T and Mercer. Expect Sanders to be one of the most productive guards in the Cincinnati area this winter with his perimeter shooting ability, tough defense and relentless activity.

Another young guard who plays with poise beyond his age, Sanders made some big-time shots for Fairfield from the outside. A strong guard, Sanders isn’t pushed off his spots easily and plays under control on both ends. While

has been excellent as the lead guard for Fairfield, I’ll be interested to see how Sanders will handle a bigger offensive workload next season after the core group of seniors graduate. Sanders is one of my favorite young guards to watch and I’m excited to continue to monitor his development.

Sanders is a prospect who initially got on my radar for playing up on the 16 U 3SSB circuit. Sanders wasn’t dominating, but he held his own against older competition all spring and summer. I then saw Sanders with Fairfield in June and got to see more of what he’s capable of. Sanders is a strong guard who can shoot it off the catch and provides value both on and off the ball. The chemistry he’s built with

is impressive to watch as the pair will hope to help defend their GMC crown. For a prospect his age, I’ve been most impressed by the toughness and feel for the game that Sanders has displayed.
