Class of 2030 Freshman Showcase Preview

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Class of 2030 is getting set to show up on high school campuses across Arizona, and based on what we've been hearing from those familiar with this class there are some incoming freshmen who are set to make an impact - with some even at the varsity level. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Reportedly many of the top freshmen from Arizona will be competing under one roof on Saturday at the 4th ever <strong>PrepHoops Arizona Freshman Showcase,</strong> being held at Inspire Courts in Gilbert,AZ.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>On Saturday there may be around 50-55 freshmen attending (currently 49 registered) with surprisingly good size with 20 of the 49 so far who are 6'2 or taller.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Some of the taller players registered this year are 6'7 [player_tooltip player_id='3723944' first='CJ' last='Robinson'], 6'6's [player_tooltip player_id='3665122' first='Obatayo' last='Adigun'] &amp; [player_tooltip player_id='3732341' first='Logan' last='Pepper'], 6'5's [player_tooltip player_id='3566383' first='Warren' last='Bethel'], [player_tooltip player_id='3735177' first='Mariano' last='Arenarez'], [player_tooltip player_id='3649312' first='Timothy' last='Gammage III'] &amp; [player_tooltip player_id='3728756' first='Breydon' last='Day'], 6'4's [player_tooltip player_id='3665114' first='Andrew' last='Hadley'], [player_tooltip player_id='2970234' first='Brad' last='Pitt'] &amp; [player_tooltip player_id='3649299' first='Clayton' last='Cook'], 6'3's [player_tooltip player_id='3755648' first='Mason' last='Laats'], [player_tooltip player_id='3736639' first='EJ' last='Rivers'], [player_tooltip player_id='3733617' first='Court' last='Ridenour'], [player_tooltip player_id='3662703' first='Travius' last='Tucker-Evans'] &amp; [player_tooltip player_id='3574605' first='Isaiah' last='King'] and finally 6'2's [player_tooltip player_id='3715508' first='TJ' last='Mitchell'], [player_tooltip player_id='3665120' first='Tyler' last='Dwyer Jr'], [player_tooltip player_id='3724752' first='Ryan' last='Kennedy'], [player_tooltip player_id='3755503' first='Joshua' last='Williams'] &amp; [player_tooltip player_id='3737799' first='Anthony' last='Turner'].</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>We are told there are some good guards participating (not mentioned yet) with [player_tooltip player_id='3662701' first='Deon' last='Pless'], [player_tooltip player_id='2836135' first='Myles' last='Scott'], [player_tooltip player_id='2953190' first='Valentino' last='Barnes'], [player_tooltip player_id='2961250' first='Von' last='Herzog'], [player_tooltip player_id='2959330' first='Dexter' last='Davies'], [player_tooltip player_id='3729691' first='Jalil' last='Briggs'], [player_tooltip player_id='3733814' first='Gunnar' last='Voas'], [player_tooltip player_id='3727852' first='Trent' last='Cason'], [player_tooltip player_id='3727700' first='Jacob' last='Lewis'] and [player_tooltip player_id='3737738' first='Jonathan' last='McGill']. (There are probably some good ones not mentioned that we are not aware of YET, but will see them play on Saturday.)</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I have seen less than 10 of these players live before so I am going in blind somewhat. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>These games actually do affect the first initial rankings since this is all I personally know. As the 4 years go on they will obviously be adjusted with higher skill levels and players growing their games and physical size. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I say it yearly but the first year we did this we had [player_tooltip player_id='1555180' first='Delton' last='Prescott III'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2146175' first='LJ' last='Diamond'] as the Co-MVP's and they proved to be two of the best guards in the state plus last year we had [player_tooltip player_id='2767903' first='Jacobi' last='Thompson II'] as the MVP and he is proving it was no fluke. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>This event actually does matter ! It is the first time we can see a player versus their actual peers.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The showcase will take place from 10 am to 2 pm and spectators can attend. The games will also be streamed on BallerTV if you are not able to make it.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>PrepHoops Arizona scouts <strong>Delon Bowen, Justus Miranda, Aaron Villa, [player_tooltip player_id='2716510' first='Spencer' last='Goldberg'], John Millyard</strong> and myself will be on hand to watch and will provide both live updates via X and further analysis with articles in the week following the event.
