Finished well at the rim, converting on reverse layups and catch and finish opportunities cutting to the rim, with consistent touch around the glass. Could attack downhill with quick crossover moves and big steps into the paint, getting to his spots and mixing in post ups where he was making the right reads and finding cutters with good bounce passes. Facilitated a lot this weekend, proving he’s not just a big body that can beat you going downhill.

Oba will be a top prospect in the 2030 class for years to come with his natural size and feel for the game. Oba has an nice handle for his size and is a mismatch nightmare for opposing defenders. He gets to the middle with ease using his strength by bumping off defenders or using a low pick up. He likes to post up in the midrange and use beautiful spin fadeaway. He can hit the three at a solid slip providing great floor spacing. He displayed a new part of his game and started throwing no look dimes and hitting backdoor cutters. He will have major responsibility in year one with a rebuilding St. Marys.

Versatile frontcourt player who showed a well-rounded skill set throughout the event. Handled the ball well on the perimeter, rebounded and pushed in transition, and made good reads as a passer. Ran the floor well and was active getting to the rim in transition. Was also effective when he got touches inside, showing good footwork and a nice scoring package with drop steps, hook shots and dunks around the rim. Showed a lot of skill for his size with the ability to play both on the perimeter and inside.

He was everywhere on the court, putting his fingerprints on every part of the game, especially in the first game of the day. In the paint constantly fighting for boards at both ends, with many of the offensive ones leading to easy put-backs or tip-ins, really using his size to his advantage. He was also a playmaker and self-creator with the ball in his hands for extended stretches, showing off more of his post game at this event: dribbling his way inside, bodying an opponent up, and going to the turnaround midrange jumper. For a player his size, he impressed with his handle on fastbreaks and his ability to pass while moving and coming off the dribble, rather than only the stationary post pass. Active defensively, going for blocks in transition and hunting pick-pockets, sometimes turning those into fastbreak chances. And he broke the rim on a fastbreak dunk, by far the highlight of the showcase.

He has improved so much over the summer with his handle and range, morphing more into a prototypical stretch four. Using his height to his advantage, he can convert on off-dribble pull up threes and get to a step back midrange shot if he wants one.

Oba is a young forward that has big time potential. He is able to do all the small things right despite his age. He shows maturity in his game in his early stages of his high school career. He is always around the glass on both ends off the floor battling with bigger players. He has real skill for his size and can score from inside the paint and three. He finishes well through contact and has good hands. He can extend his range and hit the three off the catch. With his skill and work ethic he can be a very special player in a few years.
